yeah, despite the fact, or probably more accurately directly BECAUSE of the fact that Lyon had gone into their shell. Its interesting that when Lyon were playing THEIR game and not worried about simply holding onto the score that Apoel never were even close to rattling OL's nerves.

This also seems to coincide with when Ederson was replaced with Gourcuff, who from the various player ratings i've read was not among the good performers of the night.

Unfortunately since I've only been able to watch the 20 minute abridged replay of the game on UEFA.com I cant really judge for myself.

Let's hope they take it nice and easy today. No cock ups! Play conservatively, if APOEL has any heart they will try for some goals, and then we just eat them up on the counter.

Lyon's XI: Lloris - Reveillere, Kone, Cris, Cissokho - Gonalons, Kallstrom - Briand, Ederson, Bastos - Lisandro

Lots and lots of football left and we're the better side (in theory?) but I seem to have become very pessimistic about this team.

Just one goal from us will make them need to score two more. We are really still in the drivers seat. I'm just sick of these ridiculous defensive breakdowns we've been seeing lately.

Wow, I thought Ederson was going to sneak in that free kick.

I wish they'd played Gomis and Licha to start, honestly

Well first half down, and we are looking poor. Not generating anything dangerous offensively, and looking very shaky in the back. We could concievably be down 2 goals right now. Garde will have to give a hell of a team talk to right the ship.

This is exactly why we shouldn't have been such wusses in the first leg. 1-1 on aggregate now and its nobody's fault but Lyon's.

To APOEL's credit, they're playing well today. But this scoreline is really inexcusable.

Complete repeat of Saturday's performance. What's gotten into our club?

i mean a red card for Nicosie and Garde doesnt use his 3rd sub when our players are tired?

some fresh legs might be able to make the difference.

Lacazette has had a couple of great moments... not sure what Licha was doing there?
