Also, if anyone is curious, the overall attendance for the CCL through the five years is at 2,888,860. If the remaining teams can average 18,524 per game, we'll crack 3 million by the end of the campaign.

Clubes mexicanos evitan una catástrofe financiera en la Concacaf

Without the Mexican clubs the tourney would be dead.

    Just like the Gold Cup.

Mexico and the USA (Canada) are the countries that Concacaf makes money on, then that money is used to help the other clubs (at least what ever money does not get stolen by the Concacaf reps).

Read the article it's only Mexican clubs that are the saving the tourney.

Mexico clubs are the biggest contributors, that is for sure, not only in tickets but also TV money, I would assume the Spanish TV deals to show Mexico are worth a lot more than the other TV deals.

If Mexico pulled out and stopped playing would Concacaf keep the current format going? Fuck no!

    That is a fact.

But what you are arguing is that if the USA, Canada or Costa Rica pulled out could the tournament, Concacaf could keep on going with the current format. Now that is a Maybe if they reduce some expenses, but the article does not claim that.

If you were to read your own article they do not break down how much Honduras Contributes or how much Canada contributes.

Could the CCL still survive with out 1 of the other 4 countries? If the answer is yes, then the point is correct and only the exit of Mexico can bring down the correct CCL.

If the answer is not then the point is incorrect since other lose of Income even if inferior to the revenues generated by the big dog would still collapse the CCL.

BTW the article makes a nice point at the bottom.

Mexicocontributed 500K to Concacaf; Concacaf spent 1.8 Million on the teams, which means that 1.3 Million had to come from the other federations, but probably not since as they say Mexico contributed the most.

So the balance must come from TV or Concacaf is using Gold Cup revenues to subsidize the CCL.

Well at least since Blazer isn't around to steal 10% of the money maybe CONCACAF can improve the product. I get it's hard for you to give any credit to the Liga MX but the MLS and the rest of CONCACAF should kiss their ass since without them this tourney ceases to exist.

Same with Brazil in Conmebol, that is why Argentina and Brazil have so much power relative to the other nations.

If people that made the money made the rules, Conmebol would be ruled by Brazil and Concacaf by Mexico with the other countries kissing their ass.

But one federation one vote, so poor members vote together so the big powers do not step all over them.

I said that on my post above. and also TV revenue, Mexico is the Big Dog.

Concacaf only really has 3 countries that make money for them and Canada is iffy.

The only reason that the USA makes money for CONCACAF is cause the Mexico plays in the USA.

ja, another gold nugget on the article that I missed.

Xelaju in 3 home games (2 visits by Mexican teams) had revenues of 424.6K; Guadalajara only had revenues of 91K (2 home games).

I would really love if they did the same breakdown for every team and not just the Mexico and Guatemala teams.
