It would be nice to see them compete - it's probably the best chance they have of qualifying for the finals of a tournament.

FIFA`s fixtures for May are missing two matches :

Guinea - Mali and Tanzania - Eritrea

Could it be that two teams have withdrawn ?

While it would hardly be a shock if they have, it is a little bit of a coincidence that those two ties are the only two without a team that got a bye to this round in the initial draw (not including withdrawals). It may be that the matches haven't been entered because of this.

There was talk of Guinea forfeiting the match a few weeks ago - something to do with unpaid expenses. However, there was a report yesterday on guineefoot.info that suggested that Guinea would play.

With the exception of Algeria/Tunisia, all the matches seem to be pretty much decided already.

A Namibian journalist not too impressed with the Equatoguineans...

    http://www.namibiasport.com.na/node/12249

"The powerful visitors, who are the defending African champions, were just too strong and physical for the Namibians, while some of their players hardly looked feminine at all."

    Interesting details from the link:

"The flight delay is the second calamity that has hit the national women’s squad in recent days, following the suspension of Kleintjie Fredericks, Bianca Fredericks and Charmaine Swartbooi for going AWOL after the first leg in the capital. The key trio were subsequently dropped from the side and thus would not have made the trip."

Bad girls on the loose ?
