In your opinion, how can we explain the fact that in the Champions Cup CONCACAF the public was more present than now, and what is the main reason why there are so few people in the stadiums?
Comparing the Champions' Cup to the Champions League as a whole is an unfair comparison. A far more accurate comparison would be to just the knockout stages. Even then, you're getting teams that simply have smaller fan bases than any team that was in the Champions' Cup. Still, average attendances for the knockout rounds compare well to the old version of the tournament: 2008-09: 14,707 2009-10: 14,349 2010-11: 18,580
In your opinion, what can concacaf or clubs do to attract more people more fastly in stadiums, even if i see it progresses over the years? How concacaf organize the promotion of CCL?
Not much they can do, maybe move the tournament to weekends, but that is not realistic. I am not sure how much of the gate income they take, maybe allowing teams to keep it all. Get more TV money to promote the CCL better? But TV ratings and revenue are probably better than attendance (or maybe not). I am sure if you ask 3 Concacaf fans on how to improve the CCL you will get 5 different opinions. As cheaply as possible. To be fair CCL is a money loser for Concacaf, so demanding they spend tons of money on it would be off.
Expect Tigres to have great numbers in attendance next year...hell Tigres fans will probably pack the stadium in all 3 group stage games.
I heard the Tigres coach doesn't think too highly of international competitions........sure that won't translate to the fans?
good question. yeah Tucca is probably going to put bench players in Copa Libertadores as well. It might translate to the fans. maybe if the games dont sell out, I still think it will be good numbers showing up. we shall see.
Any coach who emphasizes league play over continental competition, especially when the league ends in a playoff, is a complete ****ing moron. Unless, of course, you're at a club in danger of relegation. Which Tigres certainly is not.
It depends on what pays the bills, if they feel finishing bad in the local league will get them fired, then they will prioritize the local league.
Tucca gave Tigres a championship for the first time in 30 years. Tigres can finish the season dead last and he won`t get fired.
Canada should get at least another club in CONCACAF champions league. As you see the best attendance record is in Montreal 55k and Toronto 47k. Do not forget that Vancouver plays now in BC Place, stadium with a capacity of 50 k .

Watching the Mexico - Panama game, I see what it seems to be a crowd much bigger than 7,500 @ the Home Depot Center. Does the rule only applies to the LA galaxy and Chivas USA? Is it because of spring break? Or the problem with the CCL is that those games are not part of contracts? Friday game had 8,521. http://www.concacaf.com/page/MOQ/Schedule/0,,12813,00.html
