Meh, he's not any different when it comes to the finish. I think he's better off when he's not so desparate like he was in the SK friendly.

There was one thing that Kashiwagi failed in this game - he was afraid of getting the ball. That's not about skills, he's got it on good enough level not to fail miserably for sure. Sometimes he was wandering behind Korean players backs. You could see that especially in the beginning of the second half. That was probably the reason why he was taken off. His mood went down after those shots probably. Simply put - when you failed once or twice you don't want to take another shot and you're afraid that you'll spoil easiest task. That's maybe not nowadays Japanese NT way of doing things. More like traditional one.

It's easy to say that when we win without him. If you judge Honda by the number of unsuccessful attempts in the NT, then you have a point, but that is for me maybe 20% of what he's worth for this team (and you know he still scores). The other 80% is dictating attacks by holding the ball against 2 opponents, creating space for overlapping side players; deadball situations (we have Endo, but it's always good to have numerous options); pressing upfront; and his leadership mentality.

So let's put that straight - Honda is better player. His transfer fees, WC presence and goals in CL says it all. To think that Yosuke will take three steps forward and will play on Keisuke's level that evening in Saitama was unreasonable and somewhat unjust for Reds midfielder.

IMO Honda waiting on the ball and making a pass after the others create a movement is helpful against better sides cuz it cuts out errors from our players and we're more likely to restore steady passing. Flowing play works well or maybe even better without Honda so long as passing is accurate but the ball won't stick if our passes begin to stray so we risk losing our groove for the rest of the match if there's nobody in high mids to make a breather when that happens.

    Hey anybody....

Is there any good highlights for the Japan-DPRK game on youtube or elsewhere (8+ minutes of chances/goal for both teams).

As a foreign watcher of Japanese soccer, it is so sad to see Japan relying on foreigners (Lee and Havenaar). Where's the Japanese "honor"? :( I always liked Japan as one race nation. Multiculturalism is an extremely dangerous concept and it will ruin Japan at the end. Look at Europe. There are civil wars between indigenous people and Muslims.

hope you're ready to defend this idea of yours buddy. I have no problems with havenaar being on the team but i think of him as a poor man's Edin Dzeko and that's putting it nicely. Just a tall body with a good strong shot and aerial ability because of his height. Wht do you think about guys like Boateng and Ozil playing for Germany ,Balotelli playing for Italy, Nasri playing for France?
