    Uchida is suspended right?

Damn I would like to see Nishikawa play. He looks so solid. Like he has played 50 games for the NT.

He made a decent save and held out in the previous match too. But it's impossible to tell how solid he really is when KSA barely had an attempt on target.

Don't underestimate this game. By far, I think this will be the hardest game.

I agree. Although they started weak. This will be damn tough.

There is no chance Japan will be permitted to win this match.
I probably won't even watch it.

I do have a feeling this game will be super controversial.

Good luck guys. It's going to be 11 vs 12. I have a feeling there is going to be at least one red card. They are probably going to play dirty as hell too.

Main reason why we drew the aussies was because our CB got red carded during the Bahrain match. I can't imagine what the refs going to do this game.

Nishikawa is going to have to be as clean as a whistle.
Anybody think Uchida's yellow vs Saudis was VERY soft if even a foul at all (it was probably Uchida's first foul of the night too)?

    Nishikawa won't play.
And Uchida's fault was very stupid, I would have asked for a yellow card is a Saudi had done the same ...

I am personally not too apprehensive, the whole world is watching, it's going to be a huge scandal if the host team is blatantly favored by refs. Besides this I don't think they really had gifts in the 1 st round.
Very curious to see who's going to officiate the game. :)
They should estimate themselves lucky to be in quarter finals anyway, I thought they would never make it.

Just in case, our players must stay cool headed and be careful with their challenges/tackles. It would be the easiest way to sink Japan since referees have a certain margin of appreciation when it comes to yellow/red cards.

For information : Single yellow cards will only be deleted after the quarter-finals. If Yoshida gets a yellow card against Qatar, he won't play the semi-final. (If Japan is qualified).

I can't agree with you there. Very soft yellow. At the same time, certainly a foul, and a very stupid foul, so my sympathy for Uchida is limited. Also the fact that Inoha looked super makes me less worked up over this.

I do wish Nishikawa were playing. He's been flawless and even the red card was ludicrous, and it was, it was part of a disastrously boneheaded sequence of play by Kawashima.

The problem with the yellow was the timing. It was too early. The same fault 50 minutes wouldn't have raised any objection. As for Nishikawa congrats to him (you can congratulate him more directly on Twitter). But he has yet to be tested.

Now that I think about it, I hope that the barbaric/vicious tackles of Saudis didn't harm our players. (Okazaki and Maeda in particular).

I was grateful the Saudis didn't get even more violent.
I imagine that if Japan had really pressed on toward the double-digits, we would have seen at least one serious injury inflicted out of spite, so I'm glad we took our foot off the gas.

Yes, it was soft, and didn't deserve a yellow.

This will be an ugly match for sure but I don't care as long as we get to the next round. Predicting a 2-1 win for Japan.

Ref will be Malaysian world cup referee Mohd Subkhiddin. One of the best in the asian cup there won't be any funny business I don't think.
