PR are the last team in this league you can go through cup hangover against. Perfect storm... they play one of their stronger games of the year and we play our worst. Scoreboard was about right on the night. For some reason that lot seems to play very well on the road, only so-so at home. That's about their sixth straight win away from home IIRC. PR's commissioner's cup to lose at this point. Still six straight at home, we do the business in five of those and that should be good for second or third going into the playoffs.
Eylander made two of his best saves because he put himself in a bad position. The first when he hesitated of the line and nearly allowed Martin and easy header right over top of him and the second when he spilled the corner in the second half right to the feet of the Vancouver forward, made a great save on it and then got lucky when Edwini-Bonsu skied over the open net. Chris saved the day, but also nearly cost Seattle the match. Kevin Forrest gave the ball far too often to say that he did his job better than expected. He created nothing. In the second half, when the conditions were at their worst we didn't have a single forward who could put a shot on goal. He wasn't the same player that we've seen coming off the bench this season. I think the start got to him.
A wild match against Carolina tonight. Here are the player ratings. Glad I don't have to rate the center official.
Click the photo to read how the Sounders beat Carolina 4-3 last night! I kept looking for a 'candid camera' crew to stop the match and replace the ref.
Maybe it's time for video replay. The refs this season have been truly shocking. No penalty against KC on Le Toux, was that a joke?!?! I love the stick that the fans gave the ref all the way down the field and back up. Even my girlfriend was yellin at him. And the not given penalty last night would have been an ejection in ANY sport that i can think of except for cage wrestling. I mean, that was borderline violent... What was the ref smoking? A little more that the reefer, maybe crack? He overturned the linesman INCORRECTLY 5 times+ And it sure looked like that Carolina goal was off And don't even get me started about refs in Scotland. SERIOUSLY
And as for the other preformances, some good stuff from the sounders. Gardiner has been great every game ive watched. 2 great goals and is alwayys willing to take control of midfield. Get him signed for next year!
I wasn't at the game but it sounds like the referee was this guy?? or this guy
Could it have been this ref? (if only I could find a vid of the actual incident and grassrolling lol)
I removed the posts with the ref's email and a very inappropriate comment. Please don't post that stuff. The ref may have been terrible but that is crossing a line we don't need to cross.
