Plans for Freiburg's new stadium are now in motion. Seating capacity will be expanded to 35,000 and scheduled to be ready by 2019. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...-stadion_sportclub-startet-detailplanung.html
More bad news for Freiburg. Another one of their key attacking players, Maximilian Philipp will also be out for a while with an ankle injury. Might be a good idea to bring in someone on loan for additional depth. Beister from Mainz is currently looking for a club to join in order to get more playing time. He could provide some experience and production during this push for promotion.
Latest transfer news mention Braunschweig's Emil Berggren possibly on his way to Mainz, and Florian Niederlechner going on loan to Freiburg. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...wird-mainzer-niederlechner-nach-freiburg.html
Looks like the Berggreen move has just been finalized. Both clubs reach an agreement for a transfer around € 2.5 Mio. Does Braunschweig have any potential targets being planned for the striker position, or will it be Dumbela, Düker, and Ademi for the Rückrunde? http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...rggreen-mainzer-niederlechner-freiburger.html
It's Kumbela. And I doubt that anybody out of those directly involved knows this. I wouldn't sign anyone, though, not really worth it this season.
FCN start off the second half of the season with 1-0 victory away against Sechzig. They make some ground on Freiburg who lost their match yesterday to Bochum. Düsseldorf continuing to struggle this campaign.

Great atmosphere at the Millerntor stadion. St. Pauli up 1-0 right now versus Red Bull after a swift counterattack .
St. Pauli hold onto the victory, their second time beating Red Bull this season. Could of had added at least another goal but hit the post twice. Leipzig kept missing sitter after sitter lol. Kaiserslautern win big on the road, 4-0 vs Paderborn. Effenberg's SCP team are in danger of relegating again this season. They continue to struggle and are currently 16th in the table.
Held onto is right. Picault really should have finished his chance with an open goal. Leipzig had some great chances to equalize and the majority of possession, but happy that Pauli took three big points. 6 points against the league leaders and richest team in the division...not bad. Agreed about the atmosphere, as well. The Millerntor was in full voice for this one.
Freiburg continue to struggle without the combined striker partnership of Petersen and Maxi Philipp. Losing against Fortuna Düsseldorf today, and dropping their second consecutive result. The attacking flow and balance is seriously missing right now. Nürnberg with a chance to leap ahead of them in standings for second place if they can beat Bochum at home tomorrow.
Man, I was pretty excited when he joined HSV. Didnt think he would be anything special, but I certainly thought his career would have gone much better than it has.
Yeah I remember Beister was on a roll to begin the 13/14 season for HSV. He formed a quality attacking front line with Lasogga, Calhanoglu, and van der Vaart. Real shame that ACL injury caused Beister to miss so much time and he hasn't been the same ever since. Still 25 years old though and could use the next few months to recover some form and confidence. He won't reach his top level, but can still play some meaningful football in the BL again if he gets back on track.
Patrick Erras scored his 4th goal of the season in the match against Bochum. FCN have actually been undefeated in 11 straight games. Ever since Erras took over a starting role for the team, they've gone 6 wins and 5 draws. However, management understand the risk of losing him this summer if they don't achieve promotion into the 1.BL. Even though he already signed a contract extension until 2018, there will certainly be many teams interested. Just like the transfers of Stark and Schöpf before him. http://liga-zwei.de/1-fc-nuernberg-ist-patrick-erras-nur-im-aufstiegsfall-zu-halten/48982
Maxi Philipp is ready to make his return this weekend versus SV Sandhausen. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...fighten_streich-appelliert-an-basisdinge.html
The big Franconian Derby this Friday. FCN having a better season but Greuther Fürth are undefeated in the last 7 match ups. Should be a good one.
