Hoy David Gonzalez tapó 2 penales en la semifinal contra Tulua. Es 3 años más jóven que a Robinson Zapata, pero esta lejos del nivel de Ospina.

i would have preferred if we had Vargas as our other keeper. At least Vargas played a handful of games for colombia already.

Rufay had a chance back in 2007 copa america and was a hot head...

Vargas had such a horrible season in Argentina that I think Pekerman punished him for that.
Zapata had a decent season helping Santa Fe win the Sudamericana. However in the Libertadores looked less than mediocre.

So it was the lesser of two evils I guess.

Rufay had a few good years but he is utter crap right now. I'd rather try to either develop one of the younger prospects and/or maybe stick with Vargas. Yeah, I know he's been crap lately too, but at least he is younger than Rufay.

As I said in another thread, I just hope either Montero or Arboleda playing in Argentina develop into something good.

There's really not much else out there to develop other than those two.

Rufay is 37. 34 ain't bad for a keeper, he will be 36 for Russia, Farid (I know, different level) was 42 for WC2014.

Man but farid took The privilege because he is farid , one of our best goalie supe two décades in history

If you asked me i Will take González , but isnt The ideal to have him in The bench, much more when he was average and sub for many years ( pasto , itagui ) ..The same as rufay

Right. My point is that age is not really a concern with keepers. As long as Ospina stays healthy we really do not need another world class keeper, but we do need a solid backup for those games that he is going to miss here and there. Zapata had his chance and he blew it horribly. If Gonzalez is the best Colombian keeper in the FPC, he should be called up for the next round of games.

So realistically who is our 2nd GK.

Vargas looks like he will spend another season as a sub unless they sell the Uruguayan keeper. Doubt it

Gonzalez, Castellanos and Cuadrado are flaky as shit and are good 6 months every 1.5 years. All over 30 and how many of those years were they subs?

Bonilla, Montero(is he still with San Lorenzo?)

    Any one else?

    Armani is out.....
We had a U20 GK that played 1 game at Banfield haha. Also Enviagado started a U23 GK last game. How are our GK options this light !!

Only other GK starter in the league that is Colombian is

    1. Pablo Mina - Cortolua GK... is Colombian
    2. Diego Nova of Equidad but he sucks
    3.Otero at Patriotas ….
4.Luis Estacio at Pasto but he sucks too. Is he the starter there? Also have a foreign GK so not sure
    5. Nelson Ramos at Fortaleza … too old

actually after seeing the guys these 5 guys I can see why we want so many foreign keepers. WTF happened !! We had Julio, Cordoba, Calero, Mondragon and now no one !! did someone make a deal with the deal for strikers
    20 teams

    Foreign Starters –

    1.Tolima

    2. Nacional

    3. Junior

    4.Dep Cali

    5.Millos

    6.Alianza Petrolera

    7. FKING Huila !!!

    8. Fking Jaguers has a foreign keeper !!, this is getting sad,

    9. Patriotas

    10.Rionegro haha,

    11. Boyaca Chico

12.Bucaramanga has a Uruguayan keeper I am guessing he is the starter

The goalkeeping crisis is real. I'm calling all Colombians to try out. Surely we find someone as the number 2 right?
