2015 was great to say the least……thank you for letting me share it with you.

    Happy New Year to everyone.

P.S. Recently, my HMO has allowed me to upgrade my prescription, therefore, all my comments made on this Board in 2016 will be made while gazing through Red, White and Blue glasses that are a full 1 ¾” thick.

I think for @jackdoggy it most definitely was. Ask him what his final live match count was. I am sure no USWNT had a better time following and supporting their favorite team.

Big picture, have to agree with you - but what's the use of sports if not to provide a respite from the big picture.

I remember what I was doing exactly 2 years ago today, and…and…and I remember what you were doing exactly 2 years ago today. I remember the myriad of building emotions and feelings throughout that day………..

Eagerness, Hopefulness, Determination, Anticipation, Energetic, Overwhelmed, Excitement, Tense, Shock, Anxiousness, Amazement, Comfortable (in Minute 91 to the Final Whistle) Satisfaction, Relief, Happiness, Pride, Elation, Joyfulness, Contentment, Peacefulness.

I’d have to say this lady is my favorite fan of all time:

That one clip when she grabbed the edges of her American Flag as she simulated flapping her wings……Greatness.

We are at the midpoint of our current Women’s World Cup Championship reign and I would caution everyone to not let your ongoing celebration wane…….rather, party like its July 5, 2015

May I remind you of a simple fact……..

WE are the reigning World Cup Champions
    USWNT-parade-NYC-X159775_TK1_034.jpg

    - - - until that unthinkable day in the far, far, distant future when someone else are World Cup Champions

79:06 “The U. S. needing 2 in the last 11 minutes of the game to salvage something here”
    79:30 “The U. S. are back in it….that was a wonderful goal”

84:23 “And the U. S. out of jail….Megan Rapinoe with the strike”

    85:34 “The U. S. A. can’t go on and win this now - - Can they?”

88:49 “And the U. S. A. have come back from nowhere to lead 4-3…astonishing turnaround in San Diego”

“And there is something to be said about that U.S. mentality that never say die mentality even when it seems like all of the confidence has been sapped out of them…they come back

I mayyyyyyyyy know someone and I won’t say who:D, that has replayed the 10 minutes above 200 times in the last 5 months.

Happy New Year to you all.
I hope 2018 brings you and yours health, happiness and above all else, an abundance of USWNT Matches that lay the foundation for success in France 2019.

I found it funny that, in 2015, the US was greeted with "it's been 16 years since the US was World Champions." No, the USWNT was the reigning World Champions from 1999 until 2003. One World Cup title covers 4 years.

An example (that comes from Julie Foudy!):

Even though the United States has won the past three Olympics, the past three World Cups have proven to be elusive. Heading into Canada, 16 years have passed since the United States won the World Cup. And given the U.S. success at the Olympic level, that 16 years starts to feel like an anvil for most U.S. players.

"We are 100 percent aware that it has been 16 years," midfielder Shannon Boxx, who will play in her fourth World Cup, told me recently. "That pressure has been there in every World Cup. And every World Cup that pressure grows as we get further away from the last World Cup title.

And this one is really bad (from Fox)

Goodbye to 1999. Goodbye to 16 years of World Cup futility.

Three years down, one to go. Hmmmmmmmm Or Maybe More???

A quick reminder that THIS happened 3 years ago today

The Celebration Tour is a distant memory, we are waaaaaaay past the mid-point now, only one thing to do now the way I see it - - - ratchet up the celebrating. I say, lets finish the current reign with a ridiculous flourish.

She's actually correct. She's not saying "16 years since we were World Champions", she's saying "16 years since the date of the last win". It's beside the point (to her) that we were holders for the first 4 of those 16 years.

Maybe she's a bit off because it was only 15.8 years or so.

This reminds me: After France mso won WC'98 at home (3-0 Brasil), and then got hammered in the group stage in Korea/Japan'02 (0-1 Senegal by Bouba Diop from the seated position, 0-0 Uruguay, Denmark 2-0) ... at 90' of the Denmark loss, a French fan in a bar said, "We're still World Champions! ... for five more minutes", and everybody chuckled.

But she says the 16 years "are an anvil." That doesn't make sense. 2000 was a weight on the team since they didn't win the (nonexistent) WC that year?

I think it's just one of those silly things that people say without really thinking about.

The more things change the more they stay the same…..for example, take the complete and total awesomeness of a certain Women’s National Soccer Team. You may know of this Team that I’m alluding to. They are universally known by many names - -
    Greatest Team in the Galaxy
    World freakin Champions
Best Team that was, is and will ever be.

    H. there is one joker in Dallas who swears up and down they are - -
    The ONLY Team that matters.

During 2018, this amazing group of women certainly held up their end of the bargain:
    Sheba Leaves Champions
    928943812.jpg.1520482198.jpg
    ToN Champions
    ton.jpg
    CONCACAF Champions

    Me likey raising Hardware.

As incredible as 2018 was, just think about what we can look forward to in 2019:
    • T. & Z. are coming back
    • The Match in Jersey is in late May instead of early March!!!!!!!!
    • Please, please, please, fingers crossed, Syd will bless the World with a baby girl
    • and and and we conquer the Planet and bring the Trophy back from France.

I’m no interior decorator but I think we can squeeze another one in this Trophy Case.

    CHAMPIONS !!!!

People are telling me that is Four, Vier, 4, Cuatro, IV, Quattuo, Quatre or in my native Czech – Ctyři - - - Women’s World Cup Championships won by the United States Women’s National Team.
    4 stars 2.png
    Lets quickly review shall we:
    • Best Team on the Planet ✔️
    • Greatest Team in the Universe ✔️
    • ONLY TEAM THAT MATTERS ✔️
    womens-world-cup-trophy-at-2019-draw-1040x572.jpg

It is time to officially renamed the Trophy. People who are truly in the know are already calling it The USWNT FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy.
A quick review of my WWC predictions:
    • We will get sweet REVENGE on Sweden. ✔️
    • Princess Kate and I will be in attendance at the USA vs. England Final. X
    • ATG is your Golden Ball and Golden Boot winner. X (close, but no cigar)
    • Carli Lloyd will leave her blood, sweat and tears of joy on the Pitches in France. ✔️
    D-4-HUoXYAAfV8K.jpg

Please remember, there is a big difference between “closing the gap” and “catching up”. This may come as a shock to some but I am rather fond of this Team.

The Journey with these Women, with this Team continues to be and will always be….

    The United States Women’s National Soccer Team is quite simply - - - - - -

    The Greatest Dynasty in History

Please take note……….there are absolutely no qualifiers of any kind in that Statement of Fact because none are needed, none are called for, none are required, none are necessary, none are intended. Who Ming??? - - pleeeeeeeeease, the Khans??? - - Genghis was a bad*ss I grant you that but come on, the Windsors??? - - bunch of lightweights, anyway we kicked their *ss last Summer.

The Deep Space probe Voyager 1, launched in 1977, is currently more than 13.8 billion miles from Earth. Its Mission is two-fold: 1) obtain particle, wave science and interstellar data, and 2) discover a Team greater than the USWNT.

    voyager.jpg

To this point, success on the former, nothing …. bupkis …. nada to report on the latter.

"I have not yet begun to fight!" - John Paul Jones, 1779
"I have not yet begun to extol the Greatness of the USWNT!" – jackdoggy, 2019

Happy Holidays to you and yours …………….and a Happy, GLORIOUS New Year.
