My feelings are not hurt, I just thought the finality of your statement was ridiculously premature (especially given the way this group has panned out).

You are way ahead of yourself with Dallas. Fabian Castillo -out with red card. Jair Benitez - out with red card. Joao Plata - will be back from injury, along with Torsten Frings from suspension. Dallas has been playing much worse recently and Toronto (when relatively healthy) has been playing much better. Add to that fact that Dallas is still not safely in the playoffs and even if they are, they are fighting for playoff position to ensure a home game while Toronto is essentially only fighting for this competition. This is a DANGEROUS game for Dallas which I could quite easily see Toronto winning.

Interesting! But I really think Dallas takes this game, win or tie...

Glad you're so optimistic for us. If you check the Dallas boards, I'll bet you'll find that you're more hopeful than most of us on there;) We've seen late-season Dallas meltdowns too often for us to be as optimistic as you.

The same three U-20 Canadians that Toronto often play in MLS games. I haven't seen much evidence of Toronto playing anything but the best available players for Champions League this season. Heck, we played DeGuzman against Pumas on Tuesday, but left him sitting on the bench yesterday against New York.

Heck, for the next game, I wouldn't be surprised if Toronto rests some players away against Philadelphia on the 15th, and saves them for the Champions League against Dallas on the 18th ... especially those returning from international duty.

Not that I've been following them at all, but that looks like a first-string lineup to me. Though taking Frings and Plata out at 60' looks a little like some legs-saving.

Two of our best 3 players didn't make the trip (De Guzman, and Koovermans) along with Dunfield who is a regular starter. So obviously not a true 2nd squad, but not our strongest XI by anymeans.

How did I not notice that Koovermans wasn't on there? Maybe it was the Soolsma 'oo' that confused me.:)

What a miss by Plata from Toronto, the best option so far.

Then 2 minutes later. Goal Toronto Kuverman.

Toronto with a 3 goal, they are on their way to the Elimination round.

    I think Dallas is done.

So... how about those predictions of Toronto finishing at the bottom? :D

    See you in the quarterfinals!

Well you are right most of us were wrong.

    Congrats to Toronto.

And most likely Pumas since I doubt Tauro will score 5+ goals and win.

Most people expected Dallas to advance after winning the first two matches on the road. But the two draws against Tauro hurt FCD. And 1 point in their three CCL home matches will not get them to the next round.

I think that Tauro only needs a win to go through. If they win, they'll be tied for points with Pumas, but the first tie-break is number of points earned in matches between the teams concerned - and that would be 4 for Tauro vs 1 for Pumas.

    I think ...

Yes, head-to head is the first tiebreak in this tournament.

True that, I was still thinking about the all 4 teams tied in point’s situation, but since Toronto won, that is no longer possible.

    Pumas wins 1 - 0 over Tauro.

Pumas wins the group and Toronto is second.
