Halftime discussion seemed to still be about how ridiculous it had been to rule that the goalkeeper had possession. They need to get on the same page.

Well Bouhaddi decided to show up too! Finally we can talk about her not for one of her famous blunder but for some actual high-level goalkeeping! :)

Actually the hardest reachable save was the one that was forced. If the shot is off to the side a couple or three of feet the keeper gets to jump off a step which is easier to get up. Jumping straight up is actually harder and usually slower.

Yep. They forgot what they had reported near the end of the half. Oh well, they are reporters after all.

I feel like Renard looks less superior than I’m used to see her

    Debinha. Not. Offside.

    ...ok good.

God this VAR era makes goal celebrations so awkward. Do I celebrate? Do I not? Waiting in this weird limbo to react.

Example of good VAR in this case. THIS is how you use the technology. Take note FIFA. VAR needs major revisions after this tournament but should not be scrapped entirely.

55' 1-0 Marta fk at 33m left touch, high to 11m 1/3 right. Cristiane jumps in the line and heads to crossbar center, Bouhaddi jumps and pushes it off crossbar, it drops down to 6-top left post and Renard clears.

France needs to dig deep. this is reality in these close games. they have to respond and at the same time not let brazil score again. they are fired up. france has to counter with same intensity

They should open the chequebook and hire Gary Neville or Jamie Carragher when they don't work for Sky in the summer.:D

Sorry about that Lalas is defiantly not a reporter. Shoot he is barely human.

63' 1-0 Debinha drives down wide left to 6m box left, cross to 4m 2-left for Cristiane, Renard volleys away off right foot top over her left shoulder. Ball bounces out to 9m 3-left, Thaisa steps to ball and shoots left foot across mouth, past Bouhaddi's left hand, into back right low. AR flags Debinha offside at the far side. VAR check!

64' 1-1 Onside, goal stands. Cristiane was in an offside position, but didn't touch the ball :p

I am selfish. I would rather usa face france over brazil. Brazil is always a a tight game for us. They know usa better and without solo goalkeeping v brazil could be an issue.

That may be a little mean, but who am I to talk: the main reason I'm pulling for Brazil today is to make him look like even more of an idiot for basically saying yesterday that France winning the Cup is a sure thing.

Also when the US plays Brazil the US always gets a few, sometimes more than a few, knocks and we do not need more injury question marks.
