UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 2: Croatia/Italy, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Iceland, Denmark, Bosnia-Herzegovina
I really want a team like England, Wales, Romania , Italy. I feel like we would a good shot to get the top spot in those groups.
UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 1: Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Romania, England, Wales, Portugal, Spain, Croatia/Italy. England pls. It's time. Do not want Spain. UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 3: Poland, Ukraine, Scotland, Hungary, Sweden, Albania, N Ireland, Serbia, Greece Would love Sweden. It's a close trip, they are crap and the Zlatan stuff. Do not want Serbia, we suck against Croatia/Serbia. UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 4: Turkey, Slovenia, Israel, Republic of Ireland, Norway, Bulgaria, Faroe Islands, Montenegro, Estonia Norway is perfect. Crap team and it's a great away. Do not want Turkey. UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 5: Cyprus, Latvia, Armenia, Finland, Belarus, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Moldova/Kazakhstan We beat Latvia easily last time so let's get them again. Finland are probably the "toughest" here. UEFA World Cup qualifying pot 6: Moldova/Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Georgia, Malta, San Marino, Andorra San Marino. What an incredible place. Lovely away that would be. Dont care about the other teams.
Netherlands too, Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie and Huntelaar are all getting older and older, nothing bright coming soon to replace them (Depay only but he won't reach their levels in 1 year and a few months).
So: England Bosnia Sweden Norway Latvia San Marino Perfect. London, Stockholm, Oslo and San Marino away. Probably 25 points, that should be enough to qualify as the best 2nd played team AT LEAST.
Romania, Wales, or England. Sick of Belgium already. Would be worried theyd have it all figured out by then. England would be tough but I would like to see us play them at least. Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Scotland and Sweden. Of those Id rather avoid Sweden because Im not sure Ill be anle to read countless idiotic articles about Ibrahimovic. Anyone except Slovenia and Turkey from pot 4. And anyone from pot 5 and 6.
Netherlands wouldnt be too bad as well. 1. Never played them before 2. Amsterdam trip. 3. There is a chance that RVP, Robben and Sneijder all retire from the NT after the Euros. We could get them when they are in transition. But still, England is the dream. Watching us play England at BP and watching us at Wembley would be something else.
I kind of see it like this: Worst Case: We get Germany or Spain from Pot 1 & Poland or Serbia from Pot 3 Best Case: We get Wales or Romania from Pot 1 & Albania or Northern Ireland from Pot 3 Everything else seems kind of in between. I guess I would also like to avoid Belgium from Pot 1, but you never know what form teams will be at that time.
My ideal draw now that the pots have been released: Pot 1: England/Romania/Wales Pot 2: BiH Pot 3: Greece/ Northern Ireland Pot 4: Faroe Islands/Estonia Pot 5: Moldova/Latvia Pot 6: San Marino
Probably get Germany or our achilles heel Portugal, bound to get a tough group after two relatively easy ones in a row.
I just took a closer look at their recent results, wow they have been impressive. I still would prefer them over Serbia or Poland but I will definitely not be looking for them from Pot 3. They seem kind of similar to us with a lot of talent playing all over Europe and they are really young. You're right, they really appear to be a dangerous team.
1) Netherlands - A offensive-style-football I like. Let our defenders have something to do. 2) B - I - H 3) Sweden - Let show those Bosnian Swedes who's the daddy. I also think Ibra will find an excuse to not show up in Zenica, lol. 4) Turkey - So we can enjoy some burek while we at it. 5) Finland - "Just do it". 6)Georgia - Seems like the strongest one in the pot. I want to have games that have a little more appeal to them and that makes you, when you actually end up qualifying, smile like a dork.
Cant hate on it. Actually wouldnt mind having a really strong team from pot 1 and 3 since we'll eventually have to play teams of that caliber if we were to qualify. Might as well get out feet under us before the big dance. Plus Mesa seems like he would rather die than lose control of this team. Something we didnt see with Susic. Susic seemed liked he just rolled out of bed everytime they interviewed him or everytime we had a game. Didnt seem bothered. Mesa was fired up for every minute and really wants to play perfect football.
Tired of people who wants Romania or Wales. Do you even like football? I've never seen us beat a major nation before and I am jealous when I see our neighbours beat Italy, Germany and England for fun in big games. Here in Denmark they still talk about when they beat England at Wembley in the 80s, Germany in 1992 and Uruguay in 1986. That's what football is all about, telling your grandchildren about those experiences. Not about f*cking Romania.
ATM Poland (827) will end up in pot 2 instead of BiH (819) ... yet because they arranged a last-minute friendly with Greece they'd end up in pot 3 (even with a win in that friendly ... W818 - D769 - L744) ... of course they can make more subs than allowed and Poland's current ranking wouldn't be affected ... that friendly is planned for tomorrow around the same time as Italy v. Portugal.
England - Wembley - 90.000 Bosnia - Bilino Polje - 16.000 Ukraine - Olimpiyskiy Stadion - 70.000 Ireland - Aviva Stadium - 52.000 Finland - Olympiastadion - 40.000 Georgia - Dinamo Arena - 55.000 This would be really nice, these are the teams with the biggest teams that are do-able for us (except for England). Smallest stadium would be Helsinki with still 40.000 seats.
