Yes, coming in for training camp is much smoother not only for him but the other players that have to gel with him as well. They have a jersey reveal on the first in which most assume will be a red version. I’d laugh if the big hype by the team was the Redbull logo was smaller or a different Redbull logo on the jersey and not a red version.
Veron got better after a training camp but we just continuely select Latin American players that disappoint. Our recruiting there has consistently been disappointing. I wish we would work on recruiting in the Caribbean and Africa. The players there and European lower leagues have been more useful to us.
I can assure that they would not go so far as even to remove the large Red Bull logo without replacing it with someone else logo, i.e. a shirt sponsor's logo. The good news is Bimbo is already taken.
http://www.espn.com/soccer/major-le...city-in-trade-from-new-york-red-bulls-sources Kljestan + $150K TAM for Carlos Rivas + Tommy Redding Interesting move. Can't say Rivas stuck out to me. I assume Redding becomes the 3rd CB and challenges Collin (or waits for injury) to start
I'm not crazy about the TAM in the deal but the team gets younger and Redding helps a depth to a need position. Hopefully he will continue to develop.
What I meant was changing the current RB logo to a different style. Not another company as a shirt sponsor. As far as the trade, I like it. Kljestan from a couple years ago was better. He seems to now be good game /bad game and now he’s 32.
RBNY news & rumors: CB Kevin Politz signs Homegrown Player contract; chasing Yeferson Quintana Two more young center backs? That is one way to rebuild a defense, but I'd rather there was at least one more mature stud defender on the way.
Same, another guy in the 25-28 range would be great but barring that at least I'm glad they're now looking at guys in their early 20's instead of early 30's. Now either sign Kaku or another serious attacker please...
On a completely different topic following the schedule reveal: I have been in NYC with a free Saturday each MLS season since 2001, and never has a home MetroStars/Red Bulls game occurred on that free day. But 2018 dawns a new day, and I will be in attendance at the 24 March game against Minnesota. (Unfortunately, it means I am not due for another game at Red Bull Arena after this until 2036.)
Agreed I would like to see them sign on more veteran CB to add some solid leadership for the young players. I do think that Quintana is a more seasoned player for his age then the others. But I can Politz going to RB2 while we keep Redding with the squad along with Young and two Panamanians (if they are still under contract). The bigger question is Marsh playing a 532/343 or 433 this season. If they resign Taxi, they got a really nice looking 343 on paper. Royer BWP Gamarra Taxi Adams Felipe Muyl Escobar Long Murillo

Load in up the firepower, if true: RBNY transfer rumors: $11M bid for Pussetto; Casseres visa issues; Kaku to wear No. 10 I'm always a little wary of these buy-two deals, especially when it is for 2.75x the original price, that's more like up-selling. OTOH, this Pussetto sounds like understudy for BWP, assuming he can step up his game. Ignacio Pussetto Highlights - YouTube
Any thoughts on the Superdraft? striker, FB, Striker is how we went. the first rounder will be a squadie, the 2nd and 3rd will be RB2. Round 1 1616 overall Brian White Forward - Duke Round 2 831 overall Niko de Vera Defender - Akron NY Red Bulls acquired the pick from Philadelphia via a trade on 2/7/17 1639 overall Tom Barlow Forward - Wisconsin
OK OK Shrug OnceaMetro has a nice little wrtieup on Niko https://www.onceametro.com/2018/1/2...ra-with-31st-overall-pick-akron-portland-u-23 I assume it'll be a RB2 LB battle for playing time between him and whatever academy prospect we've got at LB to be ready for a Taxi vacancy.
https://www.onceametro.com/2018/1/2...the-coming-days-deportivo-la-guaira-Venezuela Report: Cristian Casseres will be a New York Red Bulls player “in the coming days” The Venezuela youth international looks a solid bet to be RBNY’s next official signing.
“They had the wrong information”: Norwegian agent explains why Jerome Philip is in Norway, not New York Sounds like the Fed isn't the only organization screwing things up.
preseason is "ahead of schedule" https://www.newyorkredbulls.com/pos...ahead-schedule-following-first-preseason-camp The next opportunity for the young Red Bulls begins on Tuesday, February 6 when the Red Bulls head to Tucson, Arizona for the second and final preseason camp.
https://www.onceametro.com/2018/2/4...d-immigration-lawyer-muhamed-keita-mls-roster It would appear the Red Bulls traded their way into a roster problem. At the very least, it would appear that some sources would prefer that the Red Bulls be judged to have created a roster problem for themselves rather than be thought to have faulty scouting instincts. And it’s not hard to believe that Keita was let go because RBNY had traded itself into a traffic jam.
Great piece. The idea that RBNY isn't using the international player thing well makes sense because I am positive of this org ********ing things up and making it harder for themselves than necessary.
