According to this link Onet.pl and the Columbus Dispatch report that Zurawski will be the next DP in mls adn he ill hold Colubus's DP spot Zurawski and mls are still working out the money side of it and also the report says that columbus is willing to give out what ever the price may be and reports on sport.pl is 280 thousand euro so lets add zurwaski to the list of DP's in mls http://sport.onet.pl/0,1248708,1682495,wiadomosc.html http://www.sport.pl/pilka/1,73556,4881506.html
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal There are no done deals in MLS and Columbus until the player lands at Port Columbus. That said, I'll give the keyston cops in the Crew FO and our coaching staff some credit, they got a DP out of an owner that makes Mike Brown look like a Russian billionaire. GBS and Zurawski, doing more with less, it helps shoot holes in my prediction of a dead last finish.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal If it wasnt the 276th joke about MLS Rumors on this board, it might be slightly funny. I dont think Sachin is quitting his dayjob anytime soon.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Why does everyone slag MLS Rumors? And actually they reported on Zurawski along time ago. Most of their rumors are backed up and linked to other media reports and by their own work and admonition they caution against rumors that they feel have no basis in reality. Yeah some of their rumors don't flesh out, or appear to be false, but they are dealing with "rumors," isn't that the nature of the business? Overall its the best site to go to all rumored, progressing, and completed MLS moves all in one site, without having to cull Bigsoccer for 2 hours. It saves me time. I like MLS Rumors.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Don't read the LA Galaxy boards do you? Might I suggest that you check out the Albright trade thread, m'kay?
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Well it'll be quite a lot more than he played in front of for any of his clubs in Poland (cept MAYBE Wisla Krakow, but even then I'd imagine it were comparable). I'm sure he'd miss the limelight he had with Celtic.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal They didn't draw it to Columbus until i linked the Polish paper report on it. But this isn't about that site.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal You lot can be a bunch of douchebags sometimes. Someone asks a legitimate question about the Columbus Polish population and he gets mocked. Jeeeeez.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Not that it matters, but there are enclaves of ethnically Polish folks in Ohio. I grew up in a place where Polish last names were not uncommon. But most of 'em are in families that emigrated here quite a while ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_American In other words, signing a big Polish player would have the same effect on attendence signing a big Irish or German player would: none, at least no ethnically-motivated surge. If you want a first-generation immigrant attractor in Columbus, find a Somali player. Good luck.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Are you serious? The Hunts are cheap? So owning several teams, building the first SSS, building another major complex and allowing Dallas to bring in a DP last season makes them cheap? you're an idiot.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal This is the funniest thing I've ever read. Are you completely unfamiliar with HSG? Have you ever heard of the KC Chiefs? Lamar Hunt was a visionary, but HSG has been traditionally very tight with the payroll. Frankly, I was afraid the Denilson disaster was going to turn HSG off to DPs forever.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal Yes. It even sports Crew colors... Sorry RichardUK. I just couldn't resist. You do have a point...but, damn, I have no self control. Anyway, only one of those responses was mean.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal I disagree a bit, but had the same worry about Denilson, because MLS isn't the NFL. Depending on the year and team HSG will invest money into payroll, but don't always make good decisions on where to splurge. The Chiefs were one of the better franchises over the past 20 years, and had some very talented teams. They just run everything else on a shoestring, and yes are very cheap overall.
Re: Zurawski to Columbus Done Deal the fire should sign him, people in chicago actually know who he is
