More confirmation: http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul2f.html I'm sort of disappointed that he won't be in Serie A next year because I'm sure he can still perform at that level. I guess this will give me a reason to watch some Serie B games next season as well as a team to cheer for. I've always liked Zola as a player. Well ... except when he hit that weak-ass PK against Germany in Euro96 ... Anyway, I'm sure he could've continued to help the Azzurri after that disaster, but he was sort of frozen out of the squad after his move to England, even while he was burning up the EPL.
Well, Zola is FROM Sardinia, so I think he is probably genuinely interested in trying to bring Cagliari back up to Serie A.
I was going to add something like that to my post but I wasn't sure he was from Sardinia. This just adds to the Classiness of the move
Welcome back home, Gianfranco. I (we) can only thank Zola. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...02/sp_wl_afp/fbl_eng_pr_ita_zola_030702165337
