I re-watched it and Zidane said he insulted his sister and mom more then twice. He says he doesnt regret doing it because then it would excuse what Materazzi said. When Matrix grabbed his jersey Zidane turned to him and said he can buy it from him after the game. Them Matrix went off.
Sooooo in other words, he let Matrix get into his head, and he pulled the dumbest move of his otherwise-illustrious career. Got it.

That's not what i heard him say. He said he did it because there are certain things that get to him and that are close to his heart. He said to the guy, do you think i wanted to do this with only 10 minutes left in the World Cup final in my last game? He said what Materazzi said was enough to warrant him headbutting Matrix and that he would do it again if the situation came up. He also said there was ZERO interaction with Materazzi all game and that was the first time they spoke.
