Lecce coach Zdenek Zeman, never one to shy away from making controversial statements, has stated that Parma should not even be playing in Serie A this season.

After the Parmalat failure last year, AC Parma became Parma FC, a move which would normally result in relegation (as happened to Napoli and Ancona and to Fiorentina a couple years back). But because of some legal loopholes about failures of large corporations (mainly instated to protect communities from the devastating loss of a large employer), they were allowed to remain in the same division.

Say it loud, Say it proud. Parma is actually a good team. They get really unlucky. But hey they beat Lecce today 2-1. 90+5 minute goal from Gilardinho.

You talking about when Roma submitted the falsified papers for admission to the league?

BTW, this was a hugely important win for Parma, especially the manner of it - they missed two PKs (first Gilardino, then Morfeo) but still persisted to take the lead in the second half on a nice turn-and-shot by Bresciano. Then after giving up the equalizer, Gilardino got the winning goal in the final seconds. I just don't see this team going down - they have too much grit. This win moves Parma into a tie with Brescia for 17th position. Not out of the woods yet by any means, but things are looking much better than they were two weeks ago.

Back to Mr. Zeman, he refused to speak to the press after game, upset that 6 minutes of injury time had been added at the end.

He can still ******** off. ;) Relegate someone for what happens on the pitch, not off it.

(6 minutes is always a bit hard to take, though...who are we, Juve?)

Tell that to all the teams every year that are relegated for what happens off the pitch.

As for the 6 minutes, it turns out 5 minutes were to be added, according to the official signal, and the corner kick which resulted in the winning goal was taken at something like 5 minutes and 5 seconds. SOMETIMES refs will not allow a corner kick to be taken in that situation, but they often do allow it, especially if the defending team has been stalling, so I don't see his problem.

Zeman is a sore loser. We should have beat Lecce sooner but...

Sorry about the advertisement but it's really stupid. You don't have a real Parma community here while we have one at another site. It's not my problem though. I was just trying to be nice and offer you all a better place to discuss Parma. What's the harm in that?

It's not allowed. I don't make the rules. But surely you can understand why the people who run this site don't want people coming to say hey, post somewhere else instead.
