Andy says in Startelgram Zarco must take pay-cut if he wants to come back to our beloved Burn. We all know there is no way on Gods-green-earth Zarco will take pay-cut. What does eveyone think about that?? How does that help the cap??

It obviously helps the cap. The more important question is, can the Burn find players that make them better in his absence?

It needed to happen. Zarco was once Team MVP (by Inferno vote) and played a huge role in the team's character. But, he no longer fit the starting 11, and was not helping much on the field at midfield. Hopefully he goes to DC or stays in ES wherever he's happy.

He is a great guy and good player. It was just time for the team and Zarco to part ways. I wish him the best, like I'm sure most or all Burn fans. He loved the colors and deserves respect for it.

Zarco will be missed. I woudl like to see him back at a reduced salary - but my guess is he won't.

Who's going to take penalty kicks now?

    Kreis?

    Adios amigo!

Zarco will be missed. At times he pretty much was all the Burn had. But the formations and tactical discipline instilled by the new regime made Zarco dispensable. He never has been able to fully adapt to coach Jeffries for some reason. Perhaps a language barrier, perhaps a philosophical barrier, perhaps both. I wish him well wherever he goes, unless of course if he happens to be playing against Dallas.

Zarco is the perfect fit for a team looking for a marking back in a 3-5-2. Unfortunately that's not our formation anymore. I'd be surprised if he is not picked up by another squad.

I'm also pretty sure that his absence will lead to at least one loss next season based on his PK prowess alone.

    My favorite all-time Rodriguez moments:
-his soft chip over Thorton on the overlapping run in Chicago two or three years ago(even though we lost the damn game after going up 3-1!)
-his magnificent side volley vs DC(?) last season that brought us back from 0-1 down at home to ultimately win the game.
-any of his cold-as-ice PK strikes. Did he ever miss from the spot? Not that I ever saw.

    Yeah, he'll be missed.

I remember all those, great moments. I try not to remember that Chicago game, even though it was on my birthday. He's a great player and it's one of those things where you don't want him to go but at the same time he doesn't deserve to be on the bench. I hope he does well wherever he goes. I think D.C. could use him the most.

How does that help the cap? I would think that helps the cap immensley and that the team can go get a big time forward.

Sometimes, a change of systems can rejuvinate a player. Vide Juve's Grat Man, Vialli.

It can also work the other way. The Burn's Great Man no longer fits. He was given the position in preseason, and lost it to Deering. Someone else can take the pk's.

Is he past it? Or is it the system? At the end of the day, it does not matter. In a 3-5-2, there is nobody I would rather have, but in a 4-4-2, he is a high priced substitute.

I think he will stay at FAS. Last year, FAS palyed a friendly after a Burn game. Wade and I stayed to watch a great match, most of the Inferno left. I hope that the Burn managment can bring FAS back this year, and I hope that the Inferno will stay to watch.

Vaya con Dios, Zarco, gracias, y bueno suerte.
