Talking of a twilight zone style observation, technically speaking every player is overrated and underrated by someone, if you want to be THAT selective... You just have to find someone in and out of media who will take either side of the argument, but everywhichway there is always one . :p

Half the time they can slag someone off mercilessly... and then praise them to the hilt within the same week.

Does anyone remember the UK red-top papers when Princess Diana died. The early editions had a few stories saying as to how she was an appalling strumpet who was sleeping her way across western europe and embarassing the country. Apparently she was a thick as 2 short planks and could barely string 2 words together. Her charity work was a sham which she only did to try and out-do the rest of the royal family in a lurid attempt to suck up to the British people and become 'queen of our hearts'.

Then they found out she was dead and, in the later editions ON THE SAME DAY, she became this saintly figure, chased, (no pun intended), and virtuous, bestriding the world of intellectual pursuits like a colossus and devoting herself like some mother Theresa figure to small children and animals.

If we're going to use the UK red-top press as a benchmark for almost anything we're in deet sh!t.

All I know is that my first form teacher was no where near so tall as Princess Diana, and had to dress out of thriftstore basements.

    Where's the justice?

It may be that you have misjudged the intent of A.B.

Since he said "no pun intended", he may have been suggesting that Diana was being chased, as stated.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, in which case, "Sorry".

LOL - Yeah, sorry fellas. That's what comes of typing and arguing with the missus about doing some work at the same time. Although, as royalstilton said, it's all good :)

Give one example other than Rooney's height.

    http://www.itv-football.co.uk/Features/story_129949.shtml

"With or without David Beckham, or indeed the inclement, blustery conditions on the edge of the Caspian Sea, England should never really have had much trouble to beat a side ranked 114th in the world.

It was, though, the result - rather than the manner of the laboured 1-0 victory - which said more for what England can do without their one-time must-have talisman, than perhaps what the Real Madrid midfielder can now bring to his country.

In the midfield, the likes of Frank Lampard and the unfortunate Steven Gerrard, ruled out by injury, have, for some time now, been the heartbeat of the England engine room, with Beckham finding himself in a wide role, where the team is perhaps best served by his ability to send in a pinpoint cross, not to mention dead-ball expertise."

Does Sven expect his midfield to win him the World Cup?

I don't expect you to understand this so don't bother answering. Wait for Pazarius.

    As I said before.
"He's played 8 premiership games and scored a goal against Crystal Palace and a goal against 'Boro. To get to 5 goals you need to include the 2 CL games where he scored 2 against PSG and one against Porto."

So he's scored 5 goals but in 10 games total, not 8. Instead of yappin' about comprehension, head back to school to learn some basic algebra, mate.

How many goals did he have after playing 8 games? and what has that got to do with England?
All this nonsense you are saying is out of topic. So you won.

    A) Tthis has to do with proving you wrong, as you asked.

    B) As for Drogba, since you need to have this spelled out 20 different ways before it seeps into your granite gord, here ya go :

    8-15-04 EPL - Chelsea - ManUtd : 0 goals for Drogba
    that's 0 goals in 1 game
    8-21-04 EPL - Birgmingham - Chelsea : 0 goals for Drogba
that means 0 goals after playing 2 games
    8-24-04 EPL - Palace - Chelsea : 1 goal for Drogba
1 goal after first 3 games
    8-28-04 EPL - Chelsea - Saints : 0 goals for Drogba
Now after 4 games, he still has 1 goal
    9-11-04 EPL - Villa - Chelsea : 0 goals for Drogba
    so he's 1 for 5
    9-14-04 CL - PSG - Chelsea : 2 goals for Drogba
He's played 6 games and scored 3 goals at this point
    9-19-04 EPL - Chelsea - Sprus : 0 goals for Drogba
    That's 3 goals in 7 games
    9-25-04 EPL - Boro - Chelsea : 1 goal for Drogba
That's 4 goals in 8 games for Drogba.

So, to your question, after the first 8 games of the year, he scored 4 goals. He did go on to score 1 in the 2 games he's played in since Boro. 5 for 10 is good, darn good for a guy new to the EPL. Neverhtless, those aren't the numbers you claimed no matter how desperately you try to slice them in different ways.
