The 2012 season is not yet in the books and another former Italian international is on the phone to join the Montreal Impact next season.

SoccerPlus has learned from a European source that the 35-year-old defender’s agent is trying to convince Montreal, New York or at least one other MLS side to pick up his client for the 2013 campaign.

"Second highest paid player" means that his guaranteed salary is less than Di Vaio's $1,937,508

I trust the reporter more than pretty much anybody else in Montreal, this may or may not actually happen but it seems like the calls are being made for sure.

I'm afraid i don't know anything about him, should I be happy or concerned?

With the way Montreal convinced Nesta and Di Vaio to come to MLS, I wouldn't be surprised if Zambrotta went to the Impact at all.
