Wow, I was vaguely aware that Valencia was struggling. But damn. They aren't picking up any points at all.
Out in the 77th: ElDesmarque VCF @ElDesmarque_VCF #ValenciaRealSociedad 1-0 (77') Doble cambio en el Valencia. Entran Ilaix y Jesús Vázquez por Musah y Lato #LaLigaSantander They hung on for a 1-0 win.
Just watched 10min or so of start and it looks like his new manager got after Musah to be more aggressive. He appeared to be making smart positional choices but he does get a little too positional at times when somebody stepping up into the challenge would be preferable. Eventually I think he could be really good in a 2 man midfield with somebody like Adams who is more far ranging but weak on the dribble since Musah is good on the dribble and more positional. Valencia as a club lacks personality. Gattuso was always changing things up a lot week to week. Maybe the new guy can figure it out so they don't get relegated. The clean sheet is a good sign.
Solid Saturday for our guys in Europe. Not only Valencia and Leeds got out of the relegation zone, but Royale lost in Belgiun giving Genk a clear path to the title, and the Championship results were good too.
Continued interest from the big boys. https://twitter.com/usmnttakes/status/1631023524314750982?s=61&t=UxZw4DINJjBGb8h3Ntg7nA
It's Musah time! Enters at 78', Barcelona leading 1-0 (but down to 10 men). But too late - finished Barcelona 1-0 Valencia

Is today finally going to be the day that I actually feel good after a Musah/Valencia performance? They need this win so badly... and Musah needs to get back his aggression w/ the ball at his feet. I can't believe that both Valencia and Sevilla could end up getting relegated. Crazy.
Valencia win 1-0 and have climbed out of the relegation zone to 16th. Musah played the first 82 minutes.
I wish they had fed him the ball more .... but TBH they marked him closely whenever Valencia had the ball to minimize him as the outlet. but a good strong match. Valencia could do worse than simply lining Kluivert and Yunus together and giving them the guidance to attack together.

3-0 loss to Athletico. They could slide into the drop zone if Getafe come up with points in their next game. Aside from Elche the bottom of La Liga is as bad as the EPL - 7 teams realistically battling to avoid the last two slots.
There was one break where Kluivart received the ball and if Musah went forward he would have gotten into a lot of space and perhaps a shot on goal but he looked behind him and held his position. Which means he is under strict guidelines holding him back then playing the role we all want him to eventually grow into. Not with this new manager but he is playing.
This is a historically bad Valencia. They're known as a fighting team that controls the transition game quite well. Not happening this season.
I think we've seen a variation on this theme before ... 〰️〰️ 𝙔𝙪𝙣𝙪𝙨 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 〰️〰️🤓 Time to bring back @yunusmusah8's undercover mission at the VCF Megastore 👕Happy #AprilFoolsDay! pic.twitter.com/dGoVRk8j5t— Valencia CF (@valenciacf_en) April 1, 2023 And then there's this ... 🗣 A message from @yunusmusah8 to our @Academia_VCF guys competing in the @MLSNEXT tournament this weekend! 🦇 Good luck lads! ⚽️💪🏾🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/PxBq0jWkOw— Valencia CF (@valenciacf_en) March 31, 2023

Vallecano is helmed by Iraola who was reprtedly Leeds' first choice to replace Marsch and they were surprised to find they couldn't sign him because Vallecano would simply not let him go.
