yeah, but we couldn't see Passlack's starting point, he could have easily been shielded by the advancing forward. The ball to the forward was pretty nice - good weight, right spot - and there was no other options aside from a lengthy dribble at goal. These are like final stage lessons for a professional player and he's trusted to learn them in the first team, it seems.
He saw a lot of the ball today, in a much different role than last year. BVB had better chances in the first half, but Valencia have been the better team in the second.
Nobody else was head coach of Derby County for the last 18 months either. Having that job as your first coaching gig would age anyone.
Are you trying to come off as a Musah hater? I don’t find your reports to be representative of what he actually looked like out there. Musah was good. He looked much like he does with the USMNT, which is great that he is putting it together with his club.
He's coaching in MLS instead of League One so, yes, he has moved up in the world. He's coaching DC United not Derby County so, no, he's moved down in the world. Therefore, I can confidently state that ... I'm going to lie down and forget about it.
Yeah... I thought he played pretty well. He had the one very bad final ball on the break away in the 1st half but overall I thought he looked more like the player we see for the NT and that is a good thing. I am not sure some really understand how difficult it is to play consistently good ball for a La Liga club at his tender age.?.? It is ridiculous to think that he should have it all figured out. IMO, aside from Gio, I think he has the highest ceiling of any offensive player we have in the Yank pool.
what he does at 1:12 and 1:43 is insane...especially the 1st clip if his chemistry with fellow attackers ramps up during the season he could post some incredible assist numbers this year either way the things he's capable of are priceless and i feel like his off-ball movement has improved dramatically, nice to see his growth on display against a decent opponent
His teammates get in his way a lot. When he gets the ball, his teammates should make shapes off of him vertically. One of the reasons he is so good with the national team is because guys like Arriola are really good at vertical shapes, which spreads out the defense and opens paths for Musah to carry the ball through. I’d like to see Musah get hungry to finish his runs off by hitting the ball on frame. Becoming goal-dangerous would really cause panic when he gets the ball.
Wes, Yunus and Reyna are all going to end up on Champions league contending sides - as central midfielders - and are going to be considered good players for those teams. what a generation
And I want all three in the middle together(sorry Adams)...Musah and McKennie at double pivot and Gio at the 10.
Always looked like that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lausanne_vs_Sion_27_february_2013_-_Gennaro_Gattuso.jpg
Watch the space that Arriola creates for Musah. Musah is a different player with Arriola. I think that Arriola is actually the most tactically astute forward in the squad. It helps that Arriola is as explosive as Musah and gets up field in a flash as well. Musah is like Tecmo Bo Jackson. He turns and gets up the field and dudes just bounce off of him left and right. If a wing player and/or forward makes the wrong runs or selfish runs to try to get the ball from Musah, it clogs everything up. Musah is instant transition attack. When he gets on the ball, guys need to quickly get wide at open angles or get vertical. The guys at Valencia are dragging players into his path. Move aside and let the man go through, people.

Expectations for Yunas super high back in Valencia. I believe he will live up to them. Good luck son.
