SuperDeporte cover |Yunus Musah needs crutches to walk after violent entry.#Valladolid rejected the first official offer from #Valencia for Marcos Andre pic.twitter.com/E3niMjqbkL— Valenciacf in English 🦇 (@ValenciacfAR_En) July 23, 2021
It was ruled out that Yunus Musah suffered a serious injury in the area of the tibia or fibula on Tuesday. However he was seen on crutches today in training. It seems that Musah will probably be out for a while.(Via @superdeporte_es) pic.twitter.com/4fZB1AyHkH— USMNT Universe (@UsmntU) July 23, 2021
This is too bad. He seemed like he was maybe going to break into a CM role this season. Hopefully the injury is a relatively brief one and he can work back into the team, but the timing really sucks.
With no serious damage I'm hoping it's just precautionary and hes back in a week, max two. Coach definitely seems to have big plans for him this year.
C’mon get with the times! Clearly you’re not a baller. If you were.,… you wouldn’t need crutches…. you’d have someone pumping recovery fluids in you via the Hangover IV
Yunus looking to be out 3-6 weeks 😢#USMNT https://t.co/MI3UpRUfCE— Jackie Daytona (@yoguido77) July 26, 2021 “the footballer would be absent between 3 and 6 weeks. In other words, in the best case scenario it would be three. It should be remembered that Valencia de Bordalás plays its first league match on August 13 against Getafe, a match for which there are 2 weeks and five days left”
Bummer...but I guess it could've been much worse. Worst case scenario he misses the first 5 games of the season, not ideal, but nothing Musah cant overcome. Bordalas seems to really like him, and in a more central position.
That’s better news than I expected. Nonetheless, it’s unfortunate because this will most likely rule him out of the first round of qualifiers.
Profile that includes an injury update: https://www.superdeporte.es/valencia-cf/2021/08/08/club-seleccion-mano-yunus-musah-56069013.html ... the footballer, although he has already left the crutches, has not yet rejoined the group so he is practically ruled out for the league debut against Getafe since with this type of injuries it is not advisable to shorten excess deadlines.
Actually, he'll miss the first 3 games. Valencia's first game is on the 15th with games on the 21st and 27th, followed by a break until September 12th. He'll be back in training by then. The only real downside is that he'll miss the first game, which is the Valencia derby against Getafe.
Dang. That means a low creativity, poor connectivity midfield that probably has to include Lleget. If attacking up the wings is our best offensive bet, I hope Robinson is out of Gregg’s doghouse.
Musah was on the Orange Slices podcast with Mark McKenzie and Heath Pearce this week. Definitely worth a listen. Nothing earth shattering, but he talked about his time at Arsenal, how he ended up at Valencia, experience with England youth national teams, etc. - He is back walking and should be running soon. Didn't sound 100% convinced that he'd be ready for Sep qualifying games. - Said he wanted to play in the Nations League games but it was Gregg's decision to leave him out. It was a combination of tactical and Musah not necessarily being fully fit due to not playing a lot for Valencia at the end of the season. He said Gregg talks to him a lot, and didn't sound overly frustrated at not playing in those games. - Despite the speculation/rumors around here it didn't sound like there were any issues regarding his commitment to the USMNT. He says he feels American and feels part of the team.
Oh, also on the podcast Mark and Heath asked about Folarin Balogun. Yunus knows him and said he'd put in a word, but described Folarin as "very much a London boy" or something along those lines.

Musah is reportedly back in full training today. We'll see if he's available for Valencia in their next match.
Not surprisingly, as relayed by @gomichigan24, the USMNT and Valencia agreed that Musah should/would not be called up for this WCQ window.
One other thing on Yunus Musah. I'm told USMNT assistant and Valencian Nico Estevez 🇪🇸 personally visited the club's training ground to chat with Musah, check in on him and speak to the club recently.
