Amid the madness at Valencia, ex-Arsenal midfielder Yunus Musah starting the first game of the season for them tonight. The 17-year-old is New York born, an English citizen & has Ghanaian roots.— Samuel Marsden (@samuelmarsden) September 13, 2020

Not cap tied per the main post of this thread, but it looks like we will have to wait until he has no chance of playing for England before he plays for us, hes played for England from the U-15 to the U-18s so far
New York). pic.twitter.com/zcQJw4MxmX— 𝗖𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲 (@ciberchenet) September 13, 2020 He played 88 minutes today. @bungadiri -- Let's promote him to YA.
Probably not England quality although that can change. They might have the 2nd best youth wave globally behind France.
Somebody from USA soccer needs to pick up the phone. Doesn’t matter the current chances he switches over. Closed mouths don’t get fed.
Wild background: 🇺🇸 Born in New York🇬🇭 Family from Ghana 🇮🇹 Raised in Italy🏴 @England youth captain🇪🇸 Fluent in SpanishIntroducing Yunus Musah, @valenciacf_en's history-making teen destined for stardom! 🦇💎#LaLigaSantander— LALIGA English (@LaLigaEN) September 14, 2020 @bungadiri -- He's ready for graduation. Thanks.
Is there any indication at all that he's even considering the US? I thought Balogun at least went to a US U-18 camp, and I'd need some indication like that or at least following Pulisic on Instagram or something before I get too invested in following Musah.
He has captained their youth sides numerous times and has been a pretty consistent youth national team call up for them. Getting first team minutes as an 02 at Valencia definitely puts him in their top prospect category and someone who could absolutely follow the Jadon Sancho footsteps I think he’ll be the one that got away that we had no chance of getting

Off the bench in a 1-1 draw: 1. Valencia CF: Jaume Domènech, Wass, Diakhaby, Hugo Guillamón, Gayà, Kondogbia, Racic (Esquerdo, 90’), Jason (Yunus Musah, 63’), Guedes (Kang In, 84’), Manu Vallejo (Gamiero, 63’) and Maxi Gómez.
Ok so I watched his minutes against Huesca. About 30 minutes including stoppage time. Right wing, then moved to left wing. Powerful player, runner, good cross on him, can dribble around guys. Sloppy in possession, technically sufficient. Looks quick, low center of gravity. Tried to counter press a little bit. I’d say a comp would be a young Paul Arriola. First impression I don’t necessarily think he’ll be good enough to play for England. Interesting player. Very very young kid.

Stylistically that’s my comp, yea. Musah has a better cross. They both run hard and cover a wing. Strong powerful runners, two-way players. How do you see Arriola as a player?
strong powerful runner...no factor in the final third. either scuffs or blows everything . doesnt beat players off dribble or pass very well. good defender... he is tenacious. he tries hard but it rarely leads to anything...doesnt really sound like the palyer you described musah to be.
Well listen, Valencia is on tv. Please go ahead and watch the player who you’ve never seen play and let me know if he doesn’t play like the player you don’t really value. I watched him and I shared what I saw.
That was Dest too, but you got him. There's no harm in asking. The worst is that he'll say no and play for England or Ghana, in which case the USSF will be no worse off than now. Most likely he says no now, doesn't play (competitively) for England, spends a year or two mulling his options and says yes.at around 25;
