Obviously they can’t predict a bad performance but Yunus was so far beyond the pale that I suspect there may have been signs beforehand. I could be wrong of course.
Been a couple quicksand games for Musah recently. Pressure may be getting to him a little bit. Doesnt change that for about a month maybe a little over when he played at CM he allowed Milan to get the best out of the attack. Unfortunately his mistakes the last several weeks for Milan are getting to egregious levels
I feel like Milan should just have a coach of the week for the rest of the season. Make it a surprise before every game.
Musah isn't any good. Can't pass, bad positioning, never scores. Was hoping he'd turn into the black " nocerino " kind of a useless player but scored some sick goals from mf. Only cost 500k. Also thr ultras gave him an epic song
Not sure if Musah can play his way out of the doghouse this season - perhaps v Inter in the Coppa Italia - but all is not yet lost. "The future is also up in the air for Yunus Musah, who has played a lot this season but has certainly not been exceptional. The American is also suffering from the criticism of fans, but he could stay in Italy as Napoli boss Antonio Conte likes him, as do clubs in France and England."
Circling back here, without much hope, except ... Today May 5 @ Genoa Fri May 9 v Bologna Wed May 14 Coppa Italia Final in Rome v Bologna Sun May 18 @ Roma Sun May 25 v Monza Musah has not even been getting garbage-time minutes in recent weeks, but it has been suggested that Conceicao will turn the squad upside down on Friday, giving nothing away and no one for Bologna to target in advance of their Coppa Italia Final. This odd timing (of back-to-back Bologna matches) may help Musah finally get on the field. Stay tuned ...
Musah started off so well at an early age but he has never been a center-piece of a team. He got his break for a relatively mid-level La Liga team (during his years) to one of the biggest clubs in Serie A. Despite having more YAs in top 5 Europe than ever before most of them are support pieces for their team. CP and Adams (to a lesser extent) might be the only ones that are standouts for their top 5 Euro teams. All of the others are support pieces and rarely flash the ability to take over a game. Given the fact that Musah has spent most of his time as a support player and hasn't shown consistency on the O side of the ball... I would like to see him drop in level and become an integral piece for as team. I actually think a one to two year DP contract to the right MLS Team might be just what he needs. Come in right away and the DP label means you are expected to produce. He has also spent such little time in the US despite being a USMNT regular that I think it might help him regain the fire he used to show for the USMNT. Either way.... it is time for him to find a tier/team that views him as a starter from the beginning. His confidence must be at an all-time low. Maybe he could hook up with Gio somewhere?
A start in tomorrow's league match seems ever more likely ... "AC Milan head coach Sergio Conceicao plans to deploy a ‘disguise’ in the Serie A game against Bologna, with his mind on the Coppa Italia final {on Wednesday, also against Bologna, hence the disguise}. On the wings, Theo Hernandez will be asked to work overtime, while Yunus Musah could replace Alex Jimenez."
📰 @CorSport: Reijnders will be rested. With Fofana out, the midfield will be entrusted to Musah and Loftus-Cheek. pic.twitter.com/YZA8cTvuyO— Milan Posts (@MilanPosts) May 8, 2025 Reijnders will be rested. With Fofana out, the midfield will be entrusted to Musah and Loftus-Cheek.
No, but they probably should. Here's the latest ... Sergio Conceicao will be without five players for tonight’s game. Rafael Leao is suspended, while Emerson Royal has just returned from a long absence and won’t be available. Warren Bondo, Youssouf Fofana and Riccardo Sottil are the other absentees. Predicted Milan XI (3-4-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Jimenez, Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders, Theo; Pulisic, Gimenez, Joao Felix. I would (probably) not start Reijnders, Theo or Pulisic - all too valuable; and why not play Musah for Jimenez if Jimenez will start the Coppa final on Wednesday (against this same Bologna)? No, you can't sit everyone (for fear of injury), but here we have special circumstances that suggest caution.
Interesting, thinking about that drop in form around Ramadan and the continuation of the drop thereafter for a few weeks. Maybe some heavy things on his mind, which affected top-level concentration? At any rate, we shouldn’t forget these guys are humans. Hope there is no flack from a coach or organization because he’s working through some personal things. (A la Klinsy and Donovan)
Without knowing what personal problem he asked out of the GC for I have to wonder if that's affected him recently. If so I hope he is able to solve and overcome it.
