2020?.....Seems I've heard rumors of a year 2020, but I've not found much evidence. Enjoyed the tune; I'm going to check them out.
O is for these Old Folks (who call themselves Young@Heart) singing The Ramones classic "I Wanna Be Sedated"
RIP Mr. Charley Pride, here with "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" I remember when he sang to Harmon Killebrew on a special episode of the Letterman show in the mid-80s, which was a pretty odd and pretty neat thing.
R is for "Rock and Roll Christmas" - Cordell Jackson ...and for a Christmas bonus: I came across this while looking for a live version of R 'n' R Xmas. Enjoy.
S is for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sarah Hicks
U is for "I Want You" - Marvin Gaye.....(What? It's Marvin Gaye.....it's good!) Someone in the comment section said something like, "Marvin Gaye has more soul lying on the couch in sweats than most singers do standing up and performing". Amen.
W is for "What You're Missing" - The PRVLG Song starts around the 1:00 minute mark. The PRVLG are twin brothers Christian and Christopher Underwood.
X is for X-singer for the Miracles, Smokey Robinson I heard this song recently on some stupid ass commercial. I hate when that happens, but I guess we all got bills to pay.
Z is for Roy Orbison's "Problem Child" which I know seems to lack a Z, but it was released in the UK on Z-Zazz Records (though it was recorded at Sun Records in the late 50s). I just feel like Z-Zazz has enough Zs to make this work here.
9/8 Song-- Listening Boston area band from late 60s, flourished briefly. One album that stands up quite well. Michael Tschudin, the keybord player was with Buffett for a while, Walt Powers the bassist was in a later version of Velvet Underground, and the guitarist, whose name I cannot come up with at the moment, returned to music after a long layoff, founded a band, and was involved in the process that surfaced Norah Jones in rhe early part of the milennium...
A is for "Agent Elvis" - The Memphians (from their just released instrumental album, The Memphians) The Memphians are: Dale Watson, guitarist Mario Monterosso, Danny Banks on drums, T. Jarrod Bonta on piano, Carl Caspersen on upright bass, and Jim Spake on saxophone.
With that piece as inspiration, shall we try a full round with instrumentals only? B is for "Beck's Bolero" from the Jeff Beck Group; here's the original with Keith Moon and Jimmy Page. And live in 2016 so you can see what he's doing on the guitar:
