Here's a working list of Yanks Abroad born 1993 or later. I'm still looking into a number of names whose whereabouts and/or birthdates (and/or citizenship) need confirmation, but here's a start anyway.

This will probably not be frequently updated until the transfer break; I'll handle most updates in the main YA forum. With that said, of course corrections/additions/etc. are always welcome here as well as there.

Since we are at the "beginning" of a YNT cycle (with the Olympics just ending) this list will start small and grow pretty rapidly through the next U23 go-'round.

There are dozens out there not known and a few are with decent clubs that would probably perk a youth national coach to take a look. Here is one:

Bryan Olivera at Genoa FC(Italy). He was born in Florida in 1994. He plays with the the Primavera squad as a midfielder.

Benji Joya was a 2nd Half sub for Santos Laguna yesterday, also his 19th bday.

Kenneth Saief previously of 1860 Munich was believed to be Part American. He in fact does have an American passport.

American parent I assume? Club says he was born in Israel, and he has played for them.

Nice story on Benji Joya: http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/...u-s-player-makes-a-mark-in-mexico/?ref=global

“When I was young I wanted to play for Mexico,” Joya said. “After [Ramos] called me, I have a lot of love for the U.S shirt. I actually want to stay [with them]. I don’t think I would play for Mexico, to be honest. I want to play for the U.S national team and my mind is pretty much made up.”

I like him already. He almost went to Cal St. Bakersfield, who are beginning to attract some higher caliber players. CSUB also had recruited Oscar Sorto, a '93 D who is currently playing for the LA Galaxy's U17/18 DA, but is said to be under consideration for a HG.

    Article on Pelosi: http://www.insidebayarea.com/high-s...c-player-from-sunnyvale-learning-soccer-ropes

It's the usual local kid makes good type of story, but I like that he's training under this guy:

Pelosi has learned much in the past 21/2 months under Borrell, who coached Lionel Messi when the Argentine star joined Barcelona FC as a kid. Borrell also trained Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Christian Tello -- current Barcelona stars with Messi.

Not sure I like Ramos saying, "He's probably the only one Liverpool has high hopes for."

Seems to imply something negative about Bijev.

And now Bijev has been omitted from our latest U20 roster. (Or is he hurt?)

He was on the bench the other day. Didn't play.

So far he's gotten next to no time in the Norwegian second division. Disappointing, honestly.

Yeah not very good signs recently with the lack of playing time, possible Ramos quote and not getting called in.

Speaking of Argentina, Ryan Palmbaum is a FW who plays with Estudiantes De La Plata. He was born in 2000, so he just started his journey.

Caleb Stanko made his first start for Freiburg II yesterday. I was wondering what was up with him; he was a regular part of their U-19 team in 2011-12, but hadn't popped up with the reserve team this year.

Is this a pretext for keeping him out of the U20 camp that starts today?

Possibly. At the beginning of the season, he was not making the 18. In September, he was an unused sub in all five of Freiburg II's matches. It may simply be that he is returning from injury or working up the ladder.

Ramos did say in an interview that Stanko is close to making the 1st team. So take that for whatever it's worth (though we've heard that with many players abroad).
