Probably the most skilled American player that I've ever seen.

I don't mean that he is/will be a great player, but if you have seen more skilled please let me know.

No. Carleton might be more creative, but not skilled.

The most skilled American player that you've ever seen is a bench player for Ajax U-17?

Where has anyone seen this guy play? There are streams for Ajax U-17?

There were like 2 in 2017. He looked talented but wasn’t especially involved. Small, not very strong, not defensive minded at all. But definitely dynamic offensively, even though his team kind of left him on an island.

That’s the way I remember it at least.

Maybe Ajax's coach is like Tata Martino :)

Yup. We can make little highlight videos of many prospects that make them look good. The Freddy Adu ones were epic back in the day.

I need to see more of Pynadath in 90 minute games before I make any conclusions here.............................

I've seen a little more of Konrad de la Fuente. I do see what others see in him with regards to pro potential.

Is there any season stats to back that up?

Not that I know of, but its been mentioned before on numerous occasions. I think some Ajax fans on twitter who watch these games have even said so. I don't think its just a theory that came about from nothing and is being made up.

And I'm sure Pynadath is a good player for his age. I wasn't trying to argue otherwise. I just think if someone was really the most skilled American ever, they probably wouldn't be a bench player for a U-17 team. But maybe so. I can't say I've seen much of Pyandath's game other than highlights.

I don't know what we all specifically consider "skill", but if soccer doesn't work out for Pynadath, he could always turn to freestyling. There aren't many other Americans that I could say the same about.

The Ajax U17 of last season was mostly 2001s; although a handful of younger players were on the roster. The 2002s, of which Pynadath is one, played on the Ajax Youth team. Can't find any info on if he started there or not. Pynadath will transfer to the U17 team on July 1st.

I think you are right. It was the U-16's instead.

Why hasn't he been called up to YNT's before?

His father is Charles Ordonho, who's a former Dallas Sidekicks player.
    http://www.kicksfan.com/players/ordonho/index.htm

Lucas was therefore born in Dallas, Texas.

Actually, somebody should really write a book about the influence of the Dallas Sideckicks on the current state of US Soccer. Gordon Jago alone is worthy of a book (which does actually exist).

    Nothing to suggest that.

BTW......................we've called up kids from Brazilian academies before. Luis Felipe of Cruzeiro from the 2015 u20 cycle comes to mind. There have been others.

As we know, up until now the U17 program has been particularly insular. In other words, the domestic kids that go to Bradenton are the ones that got the majority of the opportunities. That was just the nature of the beast. Prior to the U17s its a scouting crapshoot.

Also worth pointing that its clear his father is an agent. And his father is the source of much of the information we're learning about the kid. So I'm juuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little cautious about over-reacting.

There was also a mention that they have alot of youth talent and rotate their players, so all of their players at one point in the season are bench players. Who know for sure until we see season stats with alot of DNPs or many late game sub appearances.
