I get Jonathan David is the shiny new signing but he’s got 0 goals or assists in like 500 minutes. Let Weah get his run out.— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) October 4, 2020
Weah may not have gotten decent minutes but he did enter a game. Now he can build from that. I'm actually glad they are taking it slow as I don't want him to re-injure himself rushing it.
This is a debut that should come soon. Only a procedural snafu resulted in him not being in the 18 this past weekend. PSV head coach Roger Schmidt planned for Richie Ledezma (20) to join PSV’s first team in their Eredivisie win vs. Fortuna Sittard yesterday, but his COVID test did not come back in time for squad selection. Unfortunate for Richie but expect his debut soon 💪 pic.twitter.com/VSqxdvT7is— OneGoal (@OneGoalUS) October 5, 2020
Man, let's see him crush the Danish 2nd division this year................. Update 2: No transfer this window. While there was lots of interest, it appears that there were just too many obstacles to overcome. Everyone knows that he will give 100% every game. Looking forward to putting the distractions behind and focusing on soccer for a while. pic.twitter.com/PzrEzogtti— Jay Cappis (@jaycappis) October 5, 2020
I read that he was one of a number of Jong players who could’ve sat on the bench. I don’t ever think it was made clear anywhere that he definitely would’ve been in the bench. I like Ledezma, but he’s 20 years old. He has to either break in this season or leave. PSV is not a club that makes it difficult for young players to break in.

Is the player who finished the goal from the Richards pass American? That guy seems like he might be good at soccer, possibly worth inclusion on, and I don't say this lightly, some kind of list.

This doesn't help Richie Ledezma.....................two midfielders coming in to PSV. After Van Ginkel, PSV are signing also... Mario Götze! Free agent top deal of the day. Agreement to be completed soon, as per @RikElfrink. Götze turned down 2 bids from Italy, 1 from Bundesliga as Bayern turned down days ago the chance of bringing him back. 🔴 #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 6, 2020

Mendez snuck in there as the 10th. If there was ever a barometer of our progress over the last several years, its this. Only one of these players is foreign-born. 8 are still UYSNT eligible. Only the two keepers aren't. By the way, I've been corrected on that. There are actually two foreign born players. Reyna was born in the UK, but you guys get what I mean. I was implying that these aren't the Jermaine Jones, Fabian Johnson, etc. types. Three were under contract with MLS (Adams, Steffen, Richards) and three others (McKennie, Reyna, Mendez) spent time at MLS academies. Of course we have Aaronson moving to another Champions League club in a couple of months.
Interesting. As we've said, the #6 position isn't the deepest in our USMNT and U23 pools. There seem to be doubts in some quarters as to whether he can actually become eligible. I can confirm Gregg Berhalter has spoken with FC Midtjylland d-mid Jens Cajuste. Cajuste would need to file a 1-time switch to play for the #USMNT. I believe US Soccer is also reexamining the rules to determine if he could play immediately after approval of a switch.— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) October 9, 2020
Interesting. There was an article about him last year and it made it seem that he wasn’t US eligible because despite being a citizen neither of his parents were born in the US nor has he lived in the US for two consecutive years. He did visit often and his siblings live in New York so perhaps something changed with the rules or the interpretation.
