Maybe move this discussion to Politics & Current Events/International News? From a purely sports viewpoint soccer is the most popular sport in Israel, and with a population of 8-9 million in Israel proper they can accommodate three divisions, although the quality is not that high.
🔁 Deuxième changement lillois. Timothy Weah fait son retour et remplace Junior Onana.#LOSCOM 1-2 | ⏱ 80'— LOSC (@losclive) February 16, 2020
Weah is now injured again. Unknown of the injury’s and the severity but Weah has already confirmed he’s injured.
Yup. The bad news. #USMNT youngster Timothy Weah re-injured just minutes into his return to field after six-month layoff https://t.co/tDRIFUYKcQ pic.twitter.com/PBFKNpuf0o— NBC Sports Soccer (@NBCSportsSoccer) February 17, 2020
Very impressive assist IMO. A lot of small but very smart plays. Ledezma's assist from Friday https://t.co/k3WPoV9TJS— scuffed (@scuffedpod) February 17, 2020

Thanks. hard to say if it’s a tear from that update, I’m hoping they’re just confirming that the right hamstring is injured. Weah himself called it a small setback so we’ll see....finger crossed
From the Lille twitter: "During his return to first-team action afainst MArseille on Sunday, Timothy Weah suffered a tear to his right hamstring" Apparently it is a small tear but a tear nonetheless. There's no doubt that we wont have him in march but he'll be back in time for the Olympics. Very unfortunate for Weah but this falls more on Lille for potentially rushing him back to the field. What we should be happy about is that after months of being out the 4th place team in France immediately brought him back into the first team as soon as they could which speaks a lot about Weah's ability. For me he was our best attacking player in the u20 World Cup and if healthy should be a lock with Pulisic and Reyna for the Olympic squad.
Totally echo these sentiments. Luca has now been at Fulham since 2013 for Pete's sake. 1230524578985844738 is not a valid tweet id

He's had a good season once again. Ever since he's gotten to Europe, he's done well. He's played in these smaller leagues (Belgium, Netherlands, Austria), so it doesn't excite fans, but he's our best U-23 CB, IMO. https://streamja.com/qPyy
This guy is quite the world traveller. Still pursuing the dream, and good for him...... So correcting an earlier tweet...According to transfermarkt, Ben Lederman was on the books of Israeli third tier side Hakoah Amidar, but now it looks like Lederman has signed with Polish top flight side Rakow Częstochowa. #usmnt— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) February 25, 2020
But I was told only MLS does option years on contracts... 1232688238600560640 is not a valid tweet id
before MLS fans start patting themselves on the back, it would be wise to look at the total terms: is there a buy out and how long is the contract for example. I don’t think it’s controversial that Ajax is slightly better at developing youth talent than any program in MLS.....
No, MLS does a certain kind of option for a certain type of player that FIFA and CAS are against. MLS gives club only options, without significant raises, to minors. Richie was not a minor when he signed his contract. We don't know if the option was club-only, it is probably mutual. If it is a club only option, it has to contain a very significant (e.g. double salary) raise. So, to reiterate for those not paying attention. Options are ok if: 1. The player is over 18 when he signs the deal 2. The option is not club only 3. If it is club only, it has a very significant raise
Well..................there goes that. Josh Perez will not be joining Dundee United after trailing with the club last week. https://t.co/d1EfbmcPwT— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) February 27, 2020
Rumor has it that Tim Weah has had surgery on his OTHER hamstring now. Total bummer..............................if true. I haven't seen confirmation from a reputable reporter type. Its likely he's out for the season. Lost development year.
I just hope it doesn't rob him of his speed. He needs to find a specialist that can help with hamstrings. He should seek out the Bazahn brother that was the FC Dallas trainer. When he took over there was a hamstring epidemic and he virtually eliminated that plague by his work out routines.
