We're proud of you, C. Whitecaps FC transfer 16-year-old goalkeeper Chituru Odunze to English @PremierLeague club @LCFC. #LCFC | #VWFC https://t.co/uq2SofkqvT— Vancouver Whitecaps FC (@WhitecapsFC) August 1, 2019
Wonder how that works with regard to passports etc. Because he signed with Vancouver and is only transferred does he still need the passport to play in the EPL? Would be nice for other MLS clubs to transfer some of their young home growns abroad.
Odunze has an English passport. Grew up in London. Has already spent time at three different British clubs (West Ham, Chelsea, and Cardiff).
Looks like his move to Valencia happened -- scored for their youth team in a recent friendly. (Video at link) https://t.co/aOdJ19kbV9— Dave Marino-Nachison (@marinonachison) August 1, 2019
Gomez is a July 23 birthday, Morris is November 16, so Gomez could sign immediately and Morris would have to wait until the January transfer window, unless he had an EU passport. I've never rated Morris game, but I won't complain about him being in a good development environment instead of college soccer, considering Columbus Crew rarely signs academy players to pro contracts. I like Gomez game and Gomez signing in Europe might be a good idea with Ferreira and Pepi ahead of him on the depth chart at FC Dallas. Gomez wasn't going to sign with Dallas for a USL contract anyway, from what I heard, so signing in Europe seems to make sense. FC Dallas is starting to produce so much talent that they can't sign every talented player.

Lets see how he does when the season starts, but he's scoring about a goal per game in preseason. That bodes well. ‘01 Matt Hoppe scores for @knappenschmiede against Liverpool and Freiburg U19s today.— Joey (@USAprospects) August 3, 2019

United academy MF @BryangKayo did well at U.S. U-17 camp again and soon will make decision about future. Pledged to play at Wake Forest U, he's likely to sign overseas. #DCU in running but he recently had trials with 2 German clubs and now drawing interest from 4-5 sides.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 7, 2019
#USYNT member Indiana Vassilev has been given a first team number at Aston Villa this season if the image below is accurate. I doubt he’ll get any first team mins but perhaps he’ll make the bench for a cup match. Regardless, surely it’s a sign he’s impressing #USMNT https://t.co/UlHdu6UyRw— Pete (@SetPieces) August 9, 2019 Also of note is that Bryan Okoh ('03) started for the Salzburg reserves. He's a CB who plays internationally for Switzerland, but is eligible for the USA. Watching some highlights, he looks like a very good player, and one of the better dual-nationals not currently in our system.
Looks like Uly Llanez had himself a day in the U19 Bundesliga. Uly scores again! 4-1! ⚽️⚽️— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) August 11, 2019

This is a player who could play a part during the upcoming U-20 cycle. Great speed, very direct winger. I think he's a much better athlete than he gets credit for being. 1160643608002932736 is not a valid tweet id
I think Reyna gets credit for being a superior athlete whose soccer brain might get stunted as a result of that
Deedson ('01) was on the bench today for Hobro (they also started Cappis and Sabbi, Samuel on the bench) a few days after signing. Was there ever any confirmation that he's American? I know he's from Haiti, and moved to the USA a few years back, but I don't know if he yet has citizenship.
I think his overall skill and end-product might also not be of the highest caliber to play at one of the better teams in the world. He's not incredibly creative, nor is he a terrific passer or shooter. He's not bad in these areas, but not a strength. Soccer IQ might be an actual weakness. He might be comparable to a bigger Pulisic with comparable dribbling ability (Pulisic better ball control, Reyna harder to knock off the ball due to size) with a worse soccer IQ, and as a byproduct of that, worse combination play. That might not be a bad outcome though. A worse Pulisic could still be one of our NT's better players.
Good to see. Hopefully he shows off his skills there. Their U18s play in the top division of English U18 football, so he'd get to play against all the big London teams. Their U23s play in the second division of the PL2, but even that's pretty good cuz there's only 12 teams in each division there. Happy he found somewhere. I would not be surprised if he ends up in first team preseason in a year.
