Guatemala fue victorioso en el partido de vuelta por un marcador de 0-2 y califican a la ronda final con un global de 2-1.
This is what I found, about 90% of the video is the fans from Guate. Amazing first goal and couldn't see how the second goal was setup.
Call up for U-17 qualifying in Honduras. From what I found, Juan Diego Riley Cifuentes is in a Florida based US Soccer Development Academy where he's part of pool of players that get scouted for the US Youth National Teams. I still wonder how these kids who don't have a team get called up.lol
Guatemala 1-2 Jamaica Jamaica with a winner very late in regular time. Both goals from set-pieces, where Guatemala had a terrible time defending the Reggae Bwoyz.
Fulltime: Jam 2 - Gua 1 We held our own but the last few mins was sloppy play by Guate led to a free kick by Jamaica and the players were caught sleeping. The team is capable of winning, just need to keep their heads up.
Well, Memin is out. http://guatefutbol.com/otras-notici...2788-memin-ya-no-sera-el-tecnico-de-la-sub-17 Good move, or you give him another go around to really build a process?
Wechos, k se vaya, that was a waste of time. We need a South American coach for our youth systems in Guatemala
It's too bad Sopegno can't coach every team. The influence he had with the U-20 was apparent but I honestly don't think Ruiz was the right guy for the job.
I couldn't help but noticing that we don't have a thread for My Favorite Representation FOR GUATE Internationally; their Youth teams. If there was a thread already dedicated to it, please mandenme a la verga . Anyways guate u-16 is participating in the uncaf tournament in Nicaragua. So far we have: Guatemala 0-0 El Salvador Guatemala 2-0 Honduras Positives: Against El Salvador we had the better chances (apparently since the games are not being televised). Beating Honduras is also promising since they have tend to have a lot of success in youth tournaments in the concacaf. Also the team is playing with the same system the seniors are using. Even though I don't like the 3 man defense , continuation should always be appaluded. Negatives: Apparently most of the members of these team belong to an academy, and there have been rumors that the coach didn't call the best players, but the ones who could actually "afford" to be part of the team. Corruption is ingrained in every sector of our country :'(
Memin Funes, and Francisco Melgar are candidates for the SUB team coaches. Wasn't Melgar the one who coached the U-20 WC team before Almeida took over?
Well he was part of that success. Although I rate his scouting over his coaching. Too defensive for my taste. Yo se la daba a memin. At least he tries to attack everyone. On a side note it baffles me that every u20 has been working for while except us. There's a lot of potential talent in this cycle (except a goalkeeper n forward unsurprisingly) that will probably be wasted once again :'( Just to name a few Carlos Estrada (yes he still qualifies as u20 even though he already played a u20 and u23, and imo he should be in the senior NT as well) Wynalda baldizon : Senegal academy Allen yanez, Pedro altan, john Méndez , esnaidy zuñiga, Emerson dubont, oscar santis, axel reyes, Dany lopez, lam, Abel lemus, victor Valdez, diego lima, Emilio Mont The team is stacked with attacking midfielders, but it still lacking a goalkeeper (which was the downfall of the last u17)
The rats in the fed really screwed things up. We're way behind on a lot of stuff. But I agree Memin did a good job with the team.
