Youth game: Does England have it right?

    The FA hire people who get paid only to come out every few months to complain that they have no power to do almost anything.

    The second bolded bit is laughable.

    He's just delivering the usual lines that coaches do about the FA and the structure. I guess it's understandable being a coach that might rely on the FA in the future for job opportunities. Can't burn any bridges.

    The FA doesn't even develop serious young players anymore, thats done by the clubs.

    They do have some academies, but even then the general opinion is that they've got it wrong.

    Many people believe that they've moving young kids up to full size pitches too quickl;y, which encourages a kick and run mentality which plays into the hands of kids that are naturally quicker. It also negates the need for a good first touch, which we see far too often.

    There's a lad who plays for Engand now who epitomises everything that's wrong with it. Young lad, plays for Arsenal. What's his name now........ ;)
