This guy blows landon and any other american out of the water, kills adu.

He is friends with Bono, Ronaldo, a celebrity to the "Stones", and no one in this country even knows or cares. it just shows what an impact soccer has here. Any country outside of this one, he gets swamped by media and fans.

I say Valderama was a bigger star, and Stoichkov too, but Youri has been fantastic for the Metros this year. Hopefully he can give it another year.

in his prime, i would say he would blow adu landon out of the water in terms of performance (although the final verdict on landon and adu has yet to be written).. as of now, i would venture to say he is only most effective foreign star metro has seen in a while, possibly since the great pitufo

Soccer is more popular in other countries than it is here? I never would've guessed.

He can hang out with Bono and the Stones for all I care. I can;t stand to look at mick and his ugly, sickly skinny, wrinkled, 60 yr. old buddies parading around a stage with their appauling sound. But that's my take and I hope I didn't piss anyone off :)

Youri is his prime would of been great for MLS to market but the reality is MLS could never of afforded him, so we've gotten a watered down version. Youri has been one of a select few european stars to pan out and I'm happy.
MLS till needs younger stars both american and foreign, period.

In a country where everything is allowed, nothing matters.

    And there are no masterpieces.

Youri is a very skilled player and I'm happy that he is playing in the MLS. I think he will help blaze a path for more foriegn name players.

I also could care less about a players reputation, friends or global popularity. I only care that he is preforming for his team.

in addition I work with 3 people from France. One happens to follow soccer and he didn't know who Youri was until his father told him. So it's not just here.

Congrats on him getting the cover page of 90:00 recent issue.

how could someone say they follow soccer, and not even be able to name one of the biggest stars they have ever had, and who also happens to be a WC winner, something sounds fishy, i think we have a liar on our hands

    Stoitchkov, Valderrama, Mattheus, Branco, Donadoni...
Of course only Valderrama and Donadoni actually brought their games with them when they came here, so congrats to Djorkaeff for working hard and coming to play soccer...
