Entered in the 60th minute with the match 1-1, and they lost 2-1 to Wurzburger, who is last in the table. Not a great day, not seeing anything about him an a match writeup.

Gameday today available on ESPN+! And Morales is ... not in the squad. Was healthy and played 30 minutes last match. Oh well. May this start as much controversy as Pulisic missing the Chelsea squad for unspecified family reasons.

Losing 0-1 to Kiel, which is bad news for Julian Green. Fortuna has a hole in the middle of midfield in the shape of Morales. He's probably injured, but Düsseldorf takes forever to announce injuries. Last time we only knew because of a local paper, the club never said a thing --and Morales was out for six weeks.

How is our middle son’s health? He was not on the bench this weekend as Düsseldorf drew 0-0.

Big Bochum win away, 0-3. Morales played the last 30, defensive CM. Bochum & HSV in the auto-promotion places for now, Green to the playoff.

It says there will be a transfer fee and that he didn't take part in training today as a result of the impending move.

It was a head scratcher, to me anyway, when NYCFC traded Alexander Ring to Austin. It all makes sense now. I bet they were lining up Morales. A different type of D-Mid than Ring but Morales could have the same type of impact. He's going to add a much needed bite to NYCFC's midfield. I really like this move for player and club. I've always been a fan of Morales and thought he was often underrated.

Most may poopoo this move from a NT perspective, but if he earns a starting job and performs well in NY, that might weirdly get him into the NT conversation.

Acosta just played 170 minutes in the last friendlies, he's hardly an outstanding MLS player, and Gregg seems to be looking for MLS based players to keep in the rotation.

Maybe a long shot, but why not? Maybe a call-up for the Gold Cup.

Based on the inability of other Americans starting on NYCFC’s midfield to even get a look for Olympic qualifying, I have some bad news for you...

They love a good second-tier Yank Abroad central midfielder. Parks, Torres, Zelalem, and now Morales.

The new thread title writes itself though as an extension of this one! I don't know where the MLS sub-forum is but there's got to be one, right?

Good move, including for his MNT prospects. There's not much difference between a top-third MLS side and a BL1 yo-yo team. He'll get more exposure at NYCFC than he's been getting at Dusseldorf.

I think that's a pretty astute signing for NYCFC. I'm not sure the financials involved, but he's a quality professional. Not flashy, but last I saw of him he's got some real bite in his tackles.

Keaton Parks can't get on the U-23 team after a good season for NYCFC, James Sands has never played above U-17 for the US - Fredo will have to be MLS Best XI to get a look given NYCFC's history.

Good luck to him. Plenty of adjustments to be made including playing on a small pitch.
