5-0 for Bayern in 55’. Morales playing CM but deeper in second half than first half. Had few touches in first half but one shot. He was open in middle in first half but neither his team mates or Bayern seemed to take notice. Oh well, game over.

GD is important for Fortuna. This is bringing them close to Bremen in that regard.

Fortuna was so overmatched at every position... it bordered on the ridiculous. They didn't look like they belonged in the same league. Fredo had some of the brighter moments for Fortuna if you can call them that. Nothing special, but a few good passes to start breaks... he also shanked his only shot on goal.

Big takeaway was Davies continuing to rise as a star in this league. So much pace, great crosses and a fantastic goal. Perhaps more importantly... he continues to play every minute from Bayern. He never gets subbed out. He has officially become a better player than any USMNT member in the Bundesliga in my eyes... and I am not sure it is all that close. Kid is sic. Canada has their wonderkid for sure... but they are going to need a lot more.

I got to watch Davies at Vancouver. You knew he was fast but he was such a relaxed runner that sometimes you weren’t sure if he was blazing or the opposition slow. But his work rate blew me away every game. He would make a great play defensive play on one end line and then ten seconds later he is making another great play to attack on the opposite end line. Just a joy to watch.

It was obvious Davies at a young age in Vancouver was just different. The Caps did well and gave him a lot of minutes to show his stuff. His upside is still scary

Losing to Mainz, their direct relegation competition at home = funeral march.

Their hope is that Sargent's Werder keeps sucking (they will) and that they can beat Hamburg in the relegation playoff (Bench Morales vs. Bobby Wood's Ghost).

I've been following our YAs for ages and I realize that, for us, the meat is in the relegation battles. It'd be more fun if Bobby has a chance to play, though.

Wrong result. Frankfurt lost to Mainz, Dusseldorf tied Hoffenheim.

The draw isn't a bad result on its own, but combined with Mainz winning, their relegation chances went up today.

Yes, that's what I meant but I was typing on the phone so most of the sentence didn't make it.

I think they can beat HSV though.

Since the playoff was reintroduced for for the 2008-09 season there have been 11 ties, and the BL1 side has won 8 of them, including 6 out of the last 7. If Dusseldorf hold off Bremen, odd are they should stay up.

At least he was everywhere trying to block anything from happening.

Morales today is the perfect example that 'being involved' does not equal 'being good' though.

reality is FD usually looks better without him than with.

    Morales isn't a 1BL level player he's a 2BL player playing in a 2BL level club against better clubs.

I dunno... How many aerial duels did he win today... Almost every single long ball went to him... I think he won near all of them. It was kind of impressive. But his ball skills are not going to get much better. He is a limited player... but he has his moments. I wouldn't mind him putting a shift in for the USMNT against certain CONCACAF opponents.

I mean if Fortuna didn't pick him up when they ascended to 1BL no one would. This is good chance his last shot in 1BL, already 30 years old.

Facts: Fredo is on the downside of his career at 30 and is a rotational player for a team fighting relegation. He is also a player who has earned a spot in the B1 for four of the last five seasons (averaging over 1500 minutes in league play) so calling him a b2 player is literally untrue.

He is also significantly better than Trapp, Bradley and Roldan and was better than Yueill and Pomykal last year. He also adds some much needed bite for the USMNT. Yueill and Paxton are young and hopefully on the upswing but neither has shown any ability to compete at the major league level for even a single year, let alone 4 out of 5.
