Alfredo Morales has been called into US camps...but your link goes to Shaun Greenfield's call up to a team Morales isn't on nor is eligible for.

77' + yellow + possibly played MF instead of FB
90' + GOAL + looks like MF again

Hertha U23 has five games remaining and could use a win or two to avoid relegation in Regionalliga Nord, although the danger isn't dire.

Terrence Boyd had four DNPs for the U19s. Perhaps he's hurt.

Christian Castaneda is still with the U18s, which is a sort of purgatory.

John Anthony Brooks and Jerome Kiesewetter were active for the U17s:

    3/20 -- both went 90
3/27 -- both went 90, and scored one goal each in a 2-0 victory
4/18 -- both went 90, and Kiesewetter bagged two goals in a 4-0 win
4/25 -- both went 90, Brooks scored, and Kiesewetter with a yellow

Junior Ebot-Etchi is with the U-15s, who don't have match reports.

One of these days, somebody will break the Curse of Hertha Berlin and actually break through to the first team.

    Continuing on --

    Alfredo Morales
    5/1 -- 90' at MF, GOAL
    5/5 -- 90' at MF, GOAL
    5/8 -- 90' at DF

Seven points from the last three matches has Hertha II sitting comfortably mid-table after being in mild relegation trouble. I'm hopeful that Morales will get a chance with the first team next season in the BLII. He seems to be playing well at the reserve level and he only just turned 20.

    Terrence Boyd
    5/2 -- 12' as a sub
    5/9 -- DNP

Hertha U-19 has five games remaining; hopefully Boyd can get on the field a little more often.

John Anthony Brooks (CB, it seems) and Jerome Kiesewetter (winger, it seems) for the U17s:
5/9 -- both went 90, both scored one goal
5/12 -- Brooks went 90, Kiesewetter went 79 and picked up a yellow
    5/15 -- both went 90, Kiesewetter scored

These guys both seem to be having strong seasons. They are both '93s and ideally will get time on the U19 squad next season.

His chances are very good. Per today's BZ Berlin Newspaper, new coach Markus Babbel has moved Alfredo to first team training, stating that he wants the team to be full of Berliners and not "mercenaries" brought in from the outside.

Alfredo was very happy to be called into the US national team setup and would welcome another opportunity.

He was also the top scorer at the team's indoor tournament earlier this year.

He generally plays defensive midfield, but also plays across all 4 positions on the back line.

Good news. I talked to Alfredo earlier this week. He's training with the professionals.

Here's his bio from last season. He's not in the new team photo, but he may work his way into some playing time.

Yesterday, he played the entire second half in a friendly 8-0 win (report in English):

On Sunday, he had played the full 90 in the reserve/amateur game at defensive midfield in a 7-1 win (report in German):

They kind of look a little bit alike. Let's hope that Alfredo plays like Cristiano Ronaldo plays his club football.... not like he plays World Cup football.

Good to hear. Is he likely to break through to the first team as a defensive midfielder?

Bad news: New coach Babbel has cut three players from the pro squad - one of them is Alfredo Morales. They will return to the reserve team.

Yeah, he's generally playing CB now although he occasionally starts in the center of the midfield. He actually made the squad for Hertha's most recent cup match, but didn't come off the bench.

I suppose that's a sign of progression, but I haven't seen him play so I don't know for sure.
