Uhh.... Milan handed Barca their only loss this season, despite all the injuries Barca has suffered. And it wasn't exactly a resounding victory for Milan either. It was a 1-0 win, in San Siro, in a game that clearly could have gone either way(Barca hit the cross bar twice while sheva's goal was caused by Valdes' mistake), while Barca was playing with a depleted, tired, line up.

You're right about Tuesday being their next test though. I urge all of you to watch the match in ESPN this week. I expect it will be a good one.

Bayern has performed better as in all their 3 matches they have been the better team. Yes i watched the Juve game and they were very stiff not to atleast get a draw, if anyone were to win it, it should have been Bayern not Juve. Bremen was very lucky against Valencia and Anderlecht.

And to this other guy who judges teams on their GD.Look at Bayerns GD in the cl compared to Bremens!!!

    Yes you did - just.

You're #2 on my list though, behind Chelsea and marginally above Juve.

    No!
Bayern plays the same crappy style of soccer they played last year and Bremen is almost where they were last year. Quick passing and superb ball-technique! Pounded Anderlecht 5:1 tonight! How did Bayern play Anderlecht last year? My god was that home win lucky!
    who is the current champ?

well yes. it's about now. but my point was that both teams play very similar to last year. Bremen not quite yet. But they will be getting there once the injured players are all back.

NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE can say they have had more injury problems than Bayern so far this season. Almost every player at the club has been sidelined by an injury at some point this season. Most of all was when Bayern had Makaay as the only striker available due to the other 5 or 6 being injured!!

I disagree. But that's not the point of the discussion. With or without injured players, Bremen is better than Bayern.

What does that have to do with anything? This thread is about the best teams right now. Bremen are better than Bayern right now, only a deluded Bayern fan can disagree, and only after too much Franziskaner Weissbier.

Well said. Bremen are a dangerous outfit. Barca look class. And as for Chelsea, they have the resources to go all the way too.

Juve just scraped past a poorly performing Bayern München. And Werder play a better style of football. Arsenal will self-destruct as usual, since they are negative in their approach in European football.

    Kiev look lively. :D

Perhaps Manchester United will improve in the latter stages?

You all got to be kidding. Wolfsburg totally sucks. They are not even in Europe's Top 50 and will be lucky to finish 5th in Germany.

There we go again. Bremen couldn't do the business in Berlin and now are further behind Bayern. Bayern is better than Werder, just get this through your head.

Ive only seen English teams play a full 90mins this season. You people must watch a serious amount of footy to have seen all these teams play 90mins. You cant judge how a team is playing on highlights.

Im only going to rank the English teams that are playing in Europe.

    1. Middlesborough
    2. Chelsea
    3. Liverpool
    4. Man Utd
    5. Newcastle
    6. Arsenal

Middlesbrough are too high, they played a very weak Lazio after all. Apart from that, seems to be about right. Of course we were talking about playing in Europe AND in the domestic leagues, so move Arsenal up to second.

Anyway I also think Barcelona and Chelsea have the edge over most other teams right now, with Juventus, AC Milan, Inter, Arsenal, Middelsbrough, Man United, Werder Bremen, Schalke, Sevilla, Lyon, PSV and Dynamo Kiev among the closest contenders. Haven't seen Lecce play, are they really that good?

In what universe are Boro better? They've already lost at home to Chelsea, and are playing in the Uefa cup. Chelsea are also first in the EPL and have the best defense on the continent. So Boro is better how?
