Since the disappointed WC in Germany, who do u think (at present moment) will be in the selecao line-up to win WC 2010? My selections are:

    ---------- Julio Cesar --------------
    D.Alves --- Alex --- Luisao --- Marcello
    ----------Denilson --- Lucas -------
    -- Kaka ----- Ronaldinho -----Anderson / Robinho
    ---------- Pato / Adriano ----------

Brazil has loads of talents in attacking midfied (Mancini, Diego, Elano, D.Carvalho, etc) but no more a world class and flamboyant striker since Ronaldo. Hopefully Pato can be Brazil's answer to Messi and Jo (CSKA Moscow) can maintain his scoring touch in selecao. I also anxious to see how good Lula (U-17 number 10) is going to be.

i think Gilberto Silva's spot rests solely on the development of Denilson...since Denilson is viewed as Gilberto Silva's likely successor. Gilberto will be 33 by 2010 and that's just a bit too old for such a physically taxing position. You'd think we wouldve learned our lesson when we played aging laterais in 06. Gilberto Silva probably has one or two more years at Arsenal before they do a revamp and start using a lot of their younger guys.

Forwards and laterais are a wide open race. I question the success of Dani Alves at the national team level. The guy has evolved into too offensive a player...just like Mancini.

GS doesn't have as many years on him as you would think for his age. I would have Denilson coming off the bench because I wouldn't want to play two inexperienced DMs.

nice selection, as long as they play as a team and coherently, then i dont really care who is selected. to me it doesnt matter the individual anymore but the group instead

Another potential player for selecao 2010: Luiz Adriano

I heard that Luiz Adriano (Pato strike partner at Internacional) has signed for Shakhtar Donesk . He still a reserve striker at Inter and perhaps that's why he took the offer. Hopefully we will turn out to be a great striker and move to a bigger club sooner rather than later

He won't be any better than Sobis. I don't think he will reach the Seleção..

nice lineup. although i disagree with Ronaldo Starting.
We have to hope either Jo, or Pato develop into elite strikers.

and do you have Denilson, and Anderson on the bench?

Many people putting Adriano in 2010. I don't see it happening unless he really gets his act straight. Romario and Ronaldo have gotten away with the partying + playing (specially Romario), but they are 10x as gifted as Adriano IMO.

Another possible player for selecao 2010: LULA (Corinthians)

Anyone has any info / pictures/ video on LULA (Corinthians)? He has been scoring for fun in U17 South American Qualifiers as attacking midfielder wearing no 10 jersey. Do you all think he will turn out to be another world class star for Brazil? Barcelona has already been tracking him

he's still only 16...can only leave for europe in 2 years. i cant see him making a major impact on our team for the next 6 years though, what with kaka, ronaldinho, and diego all ahead of him. and anderson potentially breaking through in the next two years.

It is quite a step between junior level football up to senior level
and many doesn´t make it or is introduced too soon.
But I actually can see this kid who seems quite strongly built and ahead of his peers
turned into an assisting forward or even striker
perhaps even making it into Corinthians team this season already, since they have some problems in this position
and also in the selecao for 2010.
    The future will tell.

I'll be honest and say I havent really seen Denilson play that much at Arsenal, and from what I've seen Anderson has real potential, but I would lable him the poor man's Ronaldinho...nothing against anderson, but a player like Ronaldinho only comes around every 20 years.

Judging from his performance at current U17, i think he's the only player that worth to be included in selecao 2010 for tournament exposure, much like ronaldo in WC94, kaka in WC2002 and fred in WC2006. Let's hope that he will be another superstar in the making .

This is the starting lineup tomorrow, might as well be the starting lineup for 2008 and 2010

    Awsome...

Júlio César; Daniel Alves, Juan, Lúcio e Gilberto; Gilberto Silva, Elano , Kaká e Ronaldinho Gaúcho; Robinho e Fred.

Great line-up. Good indication for selecao 2010. Perhaps it would be better with adriano in attack. Mineiro had a good game also. Gilberto & Mineiro is already 30+. Not sure whether they can still carry on to WC2010

why no maicon at right back? he has done well for inter, i thought? sometimes, I feel that alves' defense is lacking, but he did make some nice plays in the chile friemdly, that ilsinho, though, he was getting worked. There needs to be quite some time before getting called back up again, imo.

Alves at defense for us against chile was not lacking and he is much more involved then Maicon is, not to mention he is faster, but not Cicinho speed, to bad Cicinho has no defensive skill, he would make a great RB

cicinho would not make a good RB bc he has no defensive skill whatsoever. he is more of a winger--like a mancini or something. he doesnt have the scoring touch though.

i'm still uncomfortable with alves at RB too because I think he has evolved too much from the more traditional RB. even cafu was never this offensive for his club teams.
