Yoo is like 31yrs old already, he will be retired in couple of years.

    Yoo is gone...

I think an interesting choice will be Seol. I know he is young but he is gaining tons of great experience in Belgium and he's damn good, IMHO.

I thought he is 30 right now. 34 or 35 is not too old to captain a WC team as a defender. Hong was what, 33 this year?

My vote goes to Kim Nam-Il if Yoo can't come back for 2006. Every game I've seen Kim play he seems to give his all effort (actually that's all the Korean players). For me what separates Kim from his other teammates is his attitude. His feisty and combative attitude was loved by Guus Hiddink and he should be a role-model for many Korean players who seem to play "nice". He reminds me of Edgar Davids without the ego.

Yoo is 31yrs old, born in 1971, Hong was born in 1969.
Kim NamIl was probably most unexpected player to make the team in last worldcup and proved others wrong but there are lot of young prospects in his position in U-20.
Kwon Jip impressed me most, his passing skill is already above Kim NamIl's level.

It was Lee Woon-Jae at the World Cup.

generally not a good idea to have the keeper as captain as you need some leadership on the field.... i hope lee cs gets the armband.

Well, I think it's safe to say Lee Woon-Jae will take the armband for the Asian Cup, but who do you guys think will be the captain at the 2010 World Cup? Lee Woon-Jae will be like 37 or 38 in 2010, so I doubt he'll still be playing. Kim Nam-Il will be like 34, so I don't see him still being a significant player by then. I think Park Ji-Sung should be the captain by then. If not him then maybe Lee Dong-Guk?

Park Ji-Sung doesn't scream out 'leader!' to me.

lol as much as i love the guy i totally agree. whereas a guy like lee cs who likes to talk the talk is a natural leader.
