Of all of the matches in the group stage, which look to be the most entertaining?

I've got two that come to mind:
    -Argentina vs Netherlands
    -Italy vs Czech Republic

USA v Italy ought to be fun. This will be one of the few times I actually root for USA.

I don't think USA - Italy will be exciting. Whoever gets the early goal will defend the rest of the match. That's the way those teams play. But I give the US defense the edge.

I look forward to all the games. There will always be a few very attractive and open games. Usually it's hard to predict those ahead of time.

So that will be a 3-0 win to Holland.

I always enjoy the smaller matches more. They seem to be more open and more enjoyable. Alot of the big games aren't that good. So....

    Togo vs Switzerland
    Angola vs Iran
    Tunisia vs Saudi
    Costa Rica vs Ecuador

will be the games, apart from Holland games, that I will be looking forward too.

USA vs. Italy - Mostly because I'm a US fan and think they have a pretty good chance to pull an upset.

USA vs. Czech Republic - See above.

England vs. Sweden - Rematch of close match at 2002 World Cup, plus the Sven factor makes this one really interesting.

Argentina vs. Holland - Two of the best teams in the world.

Japan vs. Australia - Pretty evenly matched, I think this one should be exciting. I've got a fondness for both these countries/teams (would like to see both of them do well, but it will be hard for them with their draw).

Germany vs. Costa Rica - The opening match. I'm basically anticipating this one so much just because it will mark the start of the World Cup! I'll be rooting for Costa Rica (typically I'll support CONCACAF sides unless they're playing against a favorite of mine) but would be pretty shocked if Germany didn't manage to win this.

Brazil vs. Croatia - I'm half Croatian by heritage, so I'm hoping they'll do well, I think they're probably second strongest in the group, but I expect Brazil to win.

:D Honestly, Im going to say Germany vs. Costa Rica. I'd like to see Costa RIca pull off a surprise win and send Germany packing (oh wait... they're already there!). Wouldn't that be so awesome?!

Is that sarcasm? I still feel it will be very defensive and rather dull. I'll probably be completely wrong and it will be a 5-3 score (don't ask me to who) but I'd be very surprised if it got past 1-0.

For me every match with Korea is an anticipation because we want to see if 2002 was a real indication of the future or if it was euphoria of merely the present.

Other than that, the games I look forward to are:

    Holland vs. Argentina
Two great sides with great players. I just hope it doesn't degenerate into an England vs. Argentina (2002) as that match was so hyped but the plot was really lost on a Michael Owen dive (oh ******** now it's going to rain fire). Rematch of France'98 (Bergkamp's ever so slight touch and great goal) and Argentina'78.

    Croatia vs. Brazil
This one gets overlooked, but if Croatia play as well as they are capable, they might just put up a fight instead of playing dead as many countries will do up against Brazil. My memory of Euro'2004 and when Dado Prso gave the French a run for their money helps me come to a conclusion that this might be a bit of a match.

    Spain vs. Ukraine
Because their debutants, people tend to overlook the Ukraine. It's not just Shevchenko that gives this match some potential. The Ukraine team is overall a fit side that can attack and also counter-attack. Spain will have their hands full.

OVERHYPED and GAMES HEADED FOR A MISERABLE SHOW

    1. Czech Republic vs. Italy
On paper this looks great. But something tells me that this is going to be a dour encounter with Italy looking to lock down Nedved and Koller and pray to God that one of their strikers isn't having an off-day. Not exactly 0-0 prediction, but don't be surprised by a 1-0 result.

    2. Germany vs. Poland
Screw the talk about revenge for Sept. 1/1939 and such... the only thing about this match that might capture the news is the potential hooligan-fest-orgy that both camps are capable of producing.

    3. England vs. Sweden
Was the precursor to this, the one played in 2002 any good? I don't remember it being that good. It was fair, but the only way this makes it on someone's top 10 list is if Sven deliberately scuttles England's ship due to a quick patriotic relapse, or if Sweden takes this match by a scoreline of 5-0.
