The main reason is because I'm originally from Tampa, but it's mainly because of my dad. My dad was there for the very beginning of the Bucs. He was a prominent sports writer for the St. Petersburg Times and was their first Bucs beat writer ever. He was there for the first two seasons when they lost their first 26 games. He knew all the players. He spent three days at Lee Roy Selmon's ranch in Oklahoma when he was the first draft pick in team history. He was vehemently hated by John McKay and Doug Williams. It was passed down to me from him. He was in Iraq when the Bucs won the Super Bowl, but he wrote me and said that he watched the game (started at 5 a.m. his time) and said he had always dreamed of that day, and we both felt strange that it finally did happen since we thought we'd never see the day (btw, we're total pessimists when it comes to the Bucs). As for the Falcons, I do pull for them, but not too much. Again, I'm a total pessimist. I grew up watching them lose, lose, and lose again. The only games I watch though are when Vick plays. I watch him and nothing else. He OWNS this city. But the NFL is totally boring for me now. I do keep up with it, but it doesn't really excite me any more.
MLS: Fire Holland: Ajax Serie A: Juventus La Liga: I enjoy watching Real Madrid, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan EPL: same as La Liga but with Arsenal and Man U
Antarctica : FC Baby eaters. Italy: Lazio England: Arsenal NFL: the Bengals NBA: Whichever team has the most white players. Ireland: Shamrock rovers Germany: Bayern Munich
Great story. Your dad is a true Bucs fan, considering how it took them like 20 seasons just to win a game . I'm actually glad that you're not really a Falcons fan now, that you didn't jump to the Vick bandwagon. Sure, I like to watch Vick, but I'm not gonna switch to being a Falcons fan because of it. I'm Kansas City Chiefs all the way.

The good in soccer and every other sport, while we're on the thread: USA: MLS - Chicago Fire MLB - Chicago Cubs NFL - Chicago Bears NBA - Chicago Bulls NHL - Chicago Blackhawks AFL - Chicago Rush (For all above - Hey, I'm from the Chicago area originally) PDL - Des Moines Menace (closest thing to a pro team we have here in Iowa) NCAA - Iowa State Cyclones (proud alumnus) And now, for the rest of the world: Spain - FC Barcelona England - Manchester United (used to lean toward Chelsea, and said it here in the past, but I grew to like Man U watching them this past summer in the Champions World tour) Italy - Juventus (based in Turin, where the church I attend has a sister church) Germany - Borussia Dortmund - (see above reason - I developed an attachment to them) France - not too committed Switzerland - not too committed, but if I had to choose, I'd lean toward FC Basel, if only because they're sort of the parents of my favorite Euro team - FC Barcelona!) Holland - Ajax (based in Amsterdam, see reasons for Italy and Germany) Scotland - Celtic (grew to like them watching during the Champions World tour) National Teams: Of course USA is my favorite, but I do like to watch Mexico (half of my family is of Mexican descent), Spain and France. Now the bad: MLS - Dallas Burn (never did get into them) MLB - St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers NFL - Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings (can't hate Detroit too much out of pity) NBA - Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks NHL - Detroit Red Wings AFL - New York Dragons (I hate the fact they were moved from Des Moines - In memory of the Iowa Barnstormers) PDL - none really NCAA - Nebraska Cornhuskers (can't hate the Iowa Hawkeyes - I live in the Iowa City area now and I would get lynched) Spain - Real Madrid (though I will watch mainly for the star power) England - Arsenal None really for the rest... Had to be said. Now I am done...
