It's almost done. Vissel didn't want to let Iwanami go until they had their management figured out. They want to sign him on a professional deal, but they have bigger problems to take care of at the moment. Iwanami's situation is one of the last things that they are thinking about right now.
Well if you're still interested in Iwanami's qualities I'd say that he's a decent prospect, but I don't know if he has the qualities to succeed in Europe. He's an extremely calm and composed centerback who has good ball skills and can pass. He isn't the fastest player and still loses composure at times. It wasn't evident during the U17 WC, but he actually scores quite alot when he plays for Vissel Kobe youth. He scored twice last weekend during their Premier League match. In my opinion the 2nd best CB in his generation after Ueda, who I feel will be an absolute monster.
CB in Europe is what NT needs a lot. I'm here hoping for a Maya Yoshida transfer, than i really hope this Iwanami guy and that Ueda will come in Europe as soon as possible. WC2014 is there waiting...
http://www.ed.nl/sport/psv/11039754/PSV-stuurt-doelman-al-weer-naar-huis.ece Doesn't look like he'll be joining for financial reasons and football reasons. It was too early anyways in my opinion. Better to stay in Japan.
http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/world/news/p-sc-tp3-20120521-954431.html looks like he's going in the end.
He'll probably have to wait until he turns 18 unless one of his parents wants to go to the Netherlands and get a job.
Well good luck to him, no better country than Netherlands for exposing young players. I felt he was getting close to a starting role at Vissel though.
Vissel will be getting a pretty good sum for him if he does go. He's not a professional, but PSV will still have to pay training compensation which can add up. http://news.livedoor.com/article/detail/5327394/ Chukyodaichu (Miyaichi's high school) was given 270,000 Euros while his previous club Sylphid FC was given 360,000 Euros. In total 630,000 Euros in compensation which more than half what Nurnberg paid for Kiyotake who is already a proven international player. Iwanami has been with Vissel since the beginning of junior high school so they'll be getting some where in between 400k-500k Euros compensation.
