Can't they just use a wad of rolled up socks for a ball like other sand-encrusted children in poor countries? Actually, I'm against this. When Jenna Bush sends our troops back into Iraq 30 years from now to clean that place up yet again, I want our troops to have the upper hand in friendly soccer matches against them without having to drink a bunch of Allsport and without using midfield launch trampolines...
I didn't say that we shouldn't. Hell, I've donated a sizeable amount of money (at least for a college student) to the U.S. Soccer Foundation the last couple years. If I remember correctly, the Crew has run promotions like this in the past to collect equipment for kids HERE to use.
Would you want him any other way? What happens when the balls go flat? Are we donating pumps as well?
My vote would be landfill ... Second vote would be ground up into particles for filler in bean bags or school lunches.
When I was a kid we played soccer with coke cans. I say we send em a case of Faygo. Then they've got soccer and good pop.
Nah, they can have all the crates of Tab(tm), Mr.Pibb(tm) and Pepsi Clear(tm) collecting dust in various general stores and Big Lots(tm) across our great nation. Keep all the good stuff for our jaded, hedonistic, material lifestyle... Maybe we'll cheese off Madonna in the process, too.
