Mexican youth transfered to Arsenal for around $3.7 mil. He is only 16.

Mexican club Guadalajara have confirmed that 16-year-old striker Carlos Vela is now an Arsenal player.
Vela's father Enrique told the Mexican media on Wednesday that his son was set to move to England and Guadalajara have now confirmed the deal.

"It's official. Carlos Vela now belongs to Arsenal," said a club statement.

Vela, who scored five goals to help Mexico win the Under-17 World Cup, is expected to cost Arsenal just over £2m and he will sign a five-year deal.

MADRID, Feb 1 - Celta Vigo have signed 16-year-old Mexican striker Carlos Vela from Guadalajara, the Primera Liga club said on Wednesday.

"Vela comes from Guadalajara and has signed a contract with our club for five years, which is the maximum allowed under FIFA regulations," Celta director Sabino Lopez was quoted as saying on Marca's website.

English Premier League club Arsenal were reported to have bought the sporting rights to the player in November after he impressed for Mexico at the under-17 world championship in Peru.

Vela top-scored with five goals in the tournament which Mexico won.

Lopez added: "There was an agreement with Arsenal for the player as a result of the collaboration deal between our two clubs.

"Both clubs are looking to attract new talent from around the world and both clubs regard Vela as a tremendously interesting player."

Arsenal and Celta signed a three-year arrangement in December 2005 designed to foster the development of young players.
