He didn't really move to Tulsa to get more playing time. He didn't think he'd be playing that soon in MLS (probably before around the age Edelman started doing so), and wanted to be playing his next few years at a level higher than MLSNP.

He played regularly all of last season in USL, so that was accomplished. The new coach and management at Tulsa didn't see room for a young player in their midfield. Now we'll see how much he plays at Tampa.

Akinmboni to USL... why not send Kristian Fletcher there as well given he barely plays?

    Snip:

USL Antelope Valley (USL AV) announced today that Southern California native Brian Kleiban has been named head coach for their men’s professional soccer team. Kleiban, who holds a USSF Senior A License, becomes the first head coach in the club’s history. The team will kick-off their 2025 Inaugural Season in USL League One and play at Lancaster Municipal Stadium, which will be converted from baseball to a soccer-specific configuration.

Not really relevant but a former U-17 guy Ray Serrano seems to be putting it together in USL... hopefully he keeps it up and earns a shot in MLS

Hopefully we see more USL loans for young guys who aren't getting MLS minutes but have nothing to prove in MLS Next Pro...

Really disappointing end too. NYCFC II had NMU on the ropes the entire first half. Their pressing was beautiful, they were creating chances, but just couldn’t break through on goal. At half it really felt like they had it.

Then in the second half, they missed a very good chance and NMU scored a really nice but low percentage goal the other way. Then the CB got a red card and that was all she wrote.

I thought Carrizo had a good first half. He’s so good now at anticipating pressure and moving out of it. Does like to overdribble at times but usually it’s because he knows he can make something happen. Disappeared in the second half. That’s kind of a trend now. I’m not sure if it’s fitness, or teams adjusting and cutting him off, or what. I do think opponents like to try to force NYCFC left in buildup where they’re not as good.

I thought Baiera did a pretty good job, but NYCFC was a little more cagey and he stayed back a bit more than usual. Failed to close the shooter down on the first goal.

Arroyave got a big start and didn’t wow me. Seemed less equipped for the speed of this game and couldn’t unlock the D in the final third. A bit of a non factor defensively. His main strength is connecting the front and back lines and carrying through the midfield, but there weren’t tons of opportunities for that.

I think this was necessary if they wanted him on the bench again tonight. Lots of MLS teams started the season with short benches (and open roster slots) and used 2 team players as stopgaps. Maybe the plan all along? Musto hasn't made it to the field much, but did make an open Cup appearance

    Toure resurfaces

Some might be old enough to remember like three years ago when the Scuffed podcast did some sort of "USYNT prospect draft" and Toure was like the first overall pick lol
