Anyone else get really hit by this? I only lost a few small trees, but several oak trees fell in our neighborhood. A big oak speared through my neighbor's garage. Another hit my neighbor's roof. I just got power back this afternoon. (I live in the Lionville area.) Several roads are still blocked in my area, presumably due to downed trees and power lines. I heard some amazing stories from people. Chesco is still not 100%. Crazy stuff.
I went to the Glenmoore area today before the US game. That area (2 days after the storm) is still in very bad shape. Telephone poles are snapped like twigs. Wires are down on roads everywhere. Little Conestoga Rd was impassible at Styer Road as a downed pole was blocking the road. The center of Glenmoore is still a mess. I've heard bad things about the Morgantown/Honey Brook area as well. It'd be great if the news media got off their lazy butts and reported on this.
just got my power back about an hour ago. The tree in my front yard was completely destroyed... debre absolutely everywhere... hail stones dented my car and cracked my mirror... also destroyed a lot of siding on my house... pretty nasty stuff.
I work at a restaurant in Malvern. We lost power around 330pm on Thursday, thanks to a transformer exploding. Power was restored around 10pm on Friday night. It was a serious bitch trying to buy enough ice to keep everything in the walk-ins from spoiling, and we were mostly successful.
My condo is right on 252 in Media. Power was out only 6 hours here. My parents live in Paoli, near 252, and had no power for over 24 hours.
