Just a few weeks ago they were quietly offering those for free (one game) to former premium STM's. You were going to have to sit still for a sales pitch, sort of like a "free" 2 night stay at at timeshare, but it's clear they were not moving.
Shot: 19,834 Chaser: Over the last 71 home matches across all competitions, the Black & Gold have won 41 and only lost nine contests (21 draws), dating back to the 2023 season. The Crew have also only lost eight of their past 54 MLS regular season home matches (31-8-15).
I see we are back to doing what we used to do under the Hunts with butts in seats vs tickets "sold". No freaking way there were 19,834 people at that game.
To me, and sorry, I should have put it in the post, it's indicative of how far we have yet to fall. If this trend continues, buckle up. There are days our collective recent memory that would have seen us *swoon* for an average attendance of 19,972 over the first three matches of what will very obviously be another bad season. There are days in our collective recent memory when a 71-9-21 record would have been seen as a miracle. It's gonna be a long year.
Anyone who follows the Browns would know the answer to this immediately.
Nor should it be, really. Tickets sold is the revenue. Those people showing up is somewhat irrelevant.
The game last night reminded me a lot of Porterball. Possession, pass it around the horn a few times, lose the ball and immediately get into a break the other way. Against Atlanta, we took shots. We scored. Last night we reverted back to trying to get the perfect slot pass or cross for a tap-in or header. Frustrating to watch.
8 years ago we would have been impressed if the announced attendance was more than 12k for an early spring Sunday evening game.
From a business perspective, our stadium needed to have a larger capacity than Cincy’s. We’ve lost out on many events due to our smaller size. It’s forced us to retrofit which is much more expensive. These costs contribute to ticket price increases.
Panic button was pushed last season when only a few of you had your pitchforks out ; ) . Ownership has been trying to seduce Bez since last fall.
Really disappointed in you. Eight posts in a row. One short of a Krypto hat trick of Krypto hat tricks, and you went back to bed? It's a sad year.
How are the Crew trending? He inherited a gold mine (staff, players, new stadium, fanbase)
He inherited a gold mine? The numbers/facts heavily disagree with your statement. Exactly how cheap do you think it was to build a new stadium and renovate the training facilities? Don’t make me say business metrics ; ) . You’re demanding new ownership, who exactly do you think will step up to purchase the Crew? How do you ensure that: A. The team isn’t moved given that we’re an unprofitable team in Ohio. B. They are willing to spend more money than the Haslams. C. Are more skilled at managing the team. What % chance do you think there is of new ownership meeting all criteria? Now stop making me defend Jimmy! It makes me very uncomfortable due to the aforementioned greedy entitled dick behavior ; ) . Think the Haslam’s need a new marketing campaign, better than Wexner springs to mind.
I was in Patio 96, thanks to an anonymous forum member who couldn't attend. Yeah, it was fairly sparse. The last two or so rows were mostly unsold. But, as already said, if the seat is sold, that's what counts in the mind of the FO. That section didn't exist last year and now they've sold umpteen seats at a bit over $3000 per seat per season. I'm guessing that a lot of those premium seats might be businesses that buy them as expenses for clients and/or employees. The people right in front of me were a family of four. Did someone really spend close to $12,500 so their kids could have unlimited hot dogs and popcorn during the game? Maybe, maybe not. Yeah, the team stinks. Yeah, the new stadium bump is over. But it was also a work and school night. Two of the next three games are Saturday nights. Our next Saturday home game after that is against Cincinnati after the World Cup. Maybe it's too early to determine if it's a trend.
The level of football that is about to be played for the rest of the season is incomprehensible to the human mind
