What's people's vibes of yedlin so far this game? Has shown his speed but been a bit touchy when he gets the ball

That goal doesn't happen if Dre doesn't hustle and win the ball back.

Thought he was a little shaky in the beginning (he usually is for the first 15 or so minutes) but him and M'Vila did a great job closing down Bolasie right before that goal.

He's been shaky individually, better in the team concept.

A few poor touches, poor cross, looked confused of what to do in the final 3rd once or twice. But his pace is being used more and he's getting into good positions. It's helping their shape. Good hustle. One of his better defensive performances thus far.

That was better. Nice run, nice cross.

Has he blocked or prevented a cross yet? It's like he's so afraid of getting beat that he gives everyone 2 yards of space which is plenty to get a a cross in.. It's baffling Big Sam doesn't correct this.

No fault on him for that one, DeAndre prevents Bolasie from shooting, but that's a great run and finish from Wickham.

His final ball this game was pretty bad, the few good crosses he did have were to nobody.

His crossing was poor - doesn't help that he only has the half-pint Defoe to aim at most of the time

I only saw the second half, but from what I'd saw I'd call it about a 6. He hustled quite a bit and got forward a fair bit. He was dangerous down his side, but just lacking a bit of technique at times. A few nice crosses, but several plain awful ones. His touch definitely was lacking, and he makes up for it with blazing speed.

All in all, decent. It wasn't a boring 6, it was a "some good, some bad" 6. I guess I'll bump it to 6.5 seeing as he was involved in both goals (sort of) and at fault for neither.

I thought he was probably man of the match. I know that he's a little erratic on crosses, but he does make things happen. I remember earlier in the year, he'd make a run and team mates wouldn't try a pass to him....but they definitely do now.

He also gave everything. You could tell he had nothing left at the end after all his runs.

His challenge set up the first goal, had an easy assist on the second.

He was overall a positive, even with the 2 or 3 meh crosses.

Agree with most everything you said. Not quite sure I'd call it a "man of the match" performance. But then again, Sunderland didn't appear to have any other standout performers, so I suppose he would be in the running.

I don't want to damn with faint praise here. I liked that he showed commitment going forward, which he's been hesitant to do. I also liked that he didn't run forward recklessly. He picked his spots. He had a nifty dribbling feint on one particular run going forward.

Like I said before, definitely some very positive things about the performance, but a couple of negative as well. Sign of a young and learning player. This will give him confidence. A couple more games like this and he'll lock down that spot the rest of the season, and that should free him mentally a bit.

I'm giving him a 10 just for still being in the 11 at this point in the season.

Heck, I'm turning him up to 11.
